MLB: NY Yankees Lose 24 – 4 to Indians in the House that Ruth Didn’t Build
OUCH!!! Think the Yankees might want to go back to The House that Ruth built?
It would appear that the new $1.5 billion Yankee Stadium is hardly providing much of a home field advantage to the Bronx Bombers these days. The Cleveland Indians scored a record 14 runs in the second inning, most ever against the Yanks ever in any inning, on their way to destroying the Yankees, 24–4.
Asdrubal Cabrera hit a grand slam and an RBI single in Cleveland’s 14-run second — the biggest inning ever against New York — and the Indians set the bar for Yankee Stadium’s new record book, coasting to a 22-4 victory.
Could you imagine paying $2500 for a seat to watch this? Well, I guess if you were from Cleveland it would be heaven.
The Tribe actually trailed NY 2–0 after the first inning and then when on to scored 12 in the second, 1 each in the third and fourth, 4 in the fifth and single runs in the eighth and ninth inning on their way to the colossal blow out.
