UPDATE II: Search For Missing Mother Ends In Tragedy After Body Is Found.
On the fourth day of searching for a missing woman, volunteers made a grisly discovery in Cheyenne Canon.
Capt. Steve Oswald with the Colorado Springs Fire Department said it was a member of a citizen search party who spotted a woman’s body in a rugged, steep area not far from the Gold Camp Reservoir.
All indications point to the deceased being Ksenia Quiros, Oswald said, though the official confirmation won’t come until an autopsy is completed.
It was the outcome the community was praying wouldn’t come for a family now twice hit by tragedy, starting with the untimely death of their 19-year-old son. On April 2, Air Force Academy Cadet 1st Class Alexandre Quiros passed away after being found in his dorm room with unspecified injuries. The Air Force Office of Special Investigations is now investigating the cause of death, but say it’s not a criminal investigation.
