Charlottesville, VA Police Chief Timothy Longo announced yesterday that 32 year old Jesse Leroy “JL” Matthew Jr. has been charged with the abduction of missing UVA college student Hannah Graham. Longo stated, “We’ve reached that point that the Commonwealth thought we had sufficient probable cause for an arrest warrant.. We obtained an arrest warrant for Jesse Matthew Jr. charging him with the class 2 felony of abduction with intent to defile.” Hannah Graham was last seen on September 13, 2014. The man authorities believe was the last person seen with 18-year-old University of Virginia student Hannah Graham before she disappeared two week ago has been charged with her abduction – but is not in custody, police said Tuesday night.
Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy Longo said at a news conference that officers were looking for Jesse Leroy Matthew Jr., 32, after obtaining an arrest warrant from a magistrate.
“We’ve reached that point that the Commonwealth thought we had sufficient probable cause for an arrest warrant.. We obtained an arrest warrant for Jesse Matthew Jr. charging him with the class 2 felony of abduction with intent to defile,” Longo said.
Add two counts of Abduction with the intent to Defile to the WANTED poster of Jesse “JL” Matthew. Obviously, the forensic results came back from the search of Matthew’s car and home and they must have found evidence that Hannah Graham was in either or both. Also, they may have found other DNA material that would have led them to finally charge Matthew with Graham’s abduction.
