Barack Obama Whines that He is Being Treated like an Actual Candidate for President during Debate

Posted in: Barack Obama,Hillary Clinton,Media,Politics,Presidential Election 2008

Barack Obama to ABC … how dare you do your job … who do you think you are, the media? Obama has some real character issues to explain as to why he associates with people who have such hateful views of the United States and in turn wishes to be President.

If Barack Obama and his campaign staff think that the questions or the tone of the campaign is difficult now, they best hold on to their hats for the general election. Up until recently, the main stream liberal media has given Obama a free pass. While Hillary Clinton was asked questions discussing her past positions on the war, health care and the economy, Obama was asked during debates what his favorite color was or if he was a tree, what type of tree would be be.

The tide seemed to have changed after Saturday Night Live ran the parody of a debate showing just how ridiculous the softball questions were to Obama and the lack of substance of any form of vetting of Obama. The Obama camp got used to the free ride. That certainly changed the other night during the Pennsylvania debate when ABC’s George Stephanopolous dared ask Barack Obama, the chosen one, about his associations with Reverend Wright and unrepentant terrorist William Ayers. Obama actually thinks that he does not need to explain this? Are you kidding? Obama, do you actually think its not a character flaw that you would associate with such people as Rev. Wright and Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground? How does one have a “friendly” relation with a person who is an unrepentant terrorist? That same person want to be President of the United States! What’s the matter Obama … Afraid Americans may actually find out just how liberal you really are?

MR. STEPHANOPOULOS: Senator, if you get the nomination, you’ll have to — (applause) — (inaudible).

I want to give Senator Clinton a chance to respond, but first a follow-up on this issue, the general theme of patriotism in your relationships. A gentleman named William Ayers, he was part of the Weather Underground in the 1970s. They bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol and other buildings. He’s never apologized for that. And in fact, on 9/11 he was quoted in The New York Times saying, “I don’t regret setting bombs; I feel we didn’t do enough.”

An early organizing meeting for your state senate campaign was held at his house, and your campaign has said you are friendly. Can you explain that relationship for the voters, and explain to Democrats why it won’t be a problem?

SEN. OBAMA: George, but this is an example of what I’m talking about.

This is a guy who lives in my neighborhood, who’s a professor of English in Chicago, who I know and who I have not received some official endorsement from. He’s not somebody who I exchange ideas from on a regular basis.

And the notion that somehow as a consequence of me knowing somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago when I was 8 years old, somehow reflects on me and my values, doesn’t make much sense, George.

The fact is, is that I’m also friendly with Tom Coburn, one of the most conservative Republicans in the United States Senate, who during his campaign once said that it might be appropriate to apply the death penalty to those who carried out abortions.

Do I need to apologize for Mr. Coburn’s statements? Because I certainly don’t agree with those either.

So this kind of game, in which anybody who I know, regardless of how flimsy the relationship is, is somehow — somehow their ideas could be attributed to me — I think the American people are smarter than that. They’re not going to suggest somehow that that is reflective of my views, because it obviously isn’t.

SEN. CLINTON: Well, I think that is a fair general statement, but I also believe that Senator Obama served on a board with Mr. Ayers for a period of time, the Woods Foundation, which was a paid directorship position.

And if I’m not mistaken, that relationship with Mr. Ayers on this board continued after 9/11 and after his reported comments, which were deeply hurtful to people in New York, and I would hope to every American, because they were published on 9/11 and he said that he was just sorry they hadn’t done more. And what they did was set bombs and in some instances people died. So it is — you know, I think it is, again, an issue that people will be asking about. And I have no doubt — I know Senator Obama’s a good man and I respect him greatly but I think that this is an issue that certainly the Republicans will be raising.

George Stephanopoulos responded to Obama, defending the handling of the debate. So suddenly after a free pass all election season, the media is accused of gotcha. Get real.

In an interview with me moments ago, Stephanopoulos strongly defended his handling of the debate. He dismissed criticism that it had focused too heavily on “gotcha” questions, arguing that they had gone to the heart of the “electability” that, he said, is forefront in the minds of voters evaluating the two Dems.

Of course why wouldn’t one whine and deflect attention away from the fact that one failed miserably during the debate, cracked under pressure and in all did a horrible job.

Watch Obama whine about “GOTCHA DEBATE”. How pathetic are you that you cannot handle a difficult question and one you best answer to the American people.

Obama on debate: ‘Sen. Clinton looked in her element’

Obama, most of us do not actually care what you have to say regarding the economy and health care as we all know politicians lie. Your record is so thin that you have nothing to stand on politically. All you have is your previous associations and dealings with other that make up your character.

VOTING FOR PRESIDENT HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH CHARACTER!!!.
