The following might be one of the most unbelievable, bizarre, amazing and welcoming find of a missing person case ever …

73 year old  Robert McDonough had been missing since about 4 pm Monday, May 27, 2013. Some 14 hours later, as WMTW News 8 and anchor/reporter Norm Karkos was doing a segment on the missing man, Robert McDonough walked up the road into the TV shot. UNBELIEVABLE. The look on the anchors face was priceless. First he thought some one was just walking into the camera shot and he nodded hello to the man. Then, the news anchor recognized that the individual was missing Robert McDonough. They contacted the Maine Wardens service to get help and report that McDonough was located.  Robert McDonough suffers from dementia and seemed to be ok after his 14  hour ordeal. Thankfully, all is well that ends well.

You must watch the video to believe.

A 73-year-old Limington man who had been missing for more than 14 hours was found Tuesday morning after he walked up to a WMTW News 8 crew.

Robert McDonough approached WMTW News 8 anchor/reporter Norm Karkos shortly after 6:30 a.m. after Karkos delivered a live update. McDonough began speaking with Karkos and identified himself as Robert McDonough.

The News 8 WMTW crew, including videographer Rob Benica and satellite truck operator Keith Kettelhut, immediately notified the Maine Warden Service.
