The incident occurred as a group of 4th grade children from the Peter Hobart Elementary School were on a field trip at the the Lilydale Regional Park. As reported at CBS-WCCO, the kids were exploring a hillside in the park when the ground gave way due to the recent rains. The slide created a sinkhole, which quickly filled with water. Sadly, the search effort for the missing child is now being described as a recovery effort.
