Halloween & Christmas Banned in Schools … This is Still America Isn’t It?

News-flash to all … QUIT WHINING! We will go out on a limb and say that any action, event, thought, comment or opinion will offend someone. Does that mean we stop everything because of it?

When is enough, enough? When does political correctness go too far an we lose all sense of normalcy? We have already seen the effort to take “Christ” out of Christmas, now some want to take Christmas and Halloween away altogether in schools. The anger that had rose from this controversy is well founded. The issue at hand is whether Halloween and Christmas celebrations are insensitive to school children who are Muslim. When did this all stop being about children enjoying themselves and more about adults religious and political agendas?

There comes a point and time where this nonsense must end. How many religious Christian holidays are not practiced in “PUBLIC” school? How about all of them. The manner in how Christmas is practice in schools is hardly religious these days. Halloween, enough said. Why is it that parents of Muslim students claim they want equality … yet they don’t. They want more. They want only their religious practices allowed.

Parents in Oak Lawn sounded off Tuesday night about what they see as an assault on traditional American celebrations. At issue is whether Halloween and Christmas celebrations are insensitive to school children who are Muslim.

As CBS 2′s Derrick Blakley reports, the school board held an emergency meeting Tuesday night.

Almost a month before Halloween, some Oak Lawn homes are already decorated with pumpkins, ghosts and goblins. But rumors that Ridgefield School District 122 may soon ban in-school Halloween and Christmas have infuriated many parents and area residents.

“They’re trying to take away holidays and stuff for the kids,” said resident Gene Boerema, dressed in a Santa Claus costume. (CBS-2)

It’s a pathetic double standard, but the real crime is that the Muslim extremists in the United States can’t even get their facts right. And while they demand tolerance for themselves, they refuse to acknowledge tolerance for others.

OH WAIT … Halloween banned in Payallup, WA because Wiccans are offended. GET A LIFE!

The second official reason: “We have been contacted by followers of the Wiccan religion, and they indicated they have been offended after seeing elementary school depictions of witches with long noses, warts, cauldrons and such,” said Tony Apostle, the superintendent who banned Halloween.
