Phil Spector’s Attorney, Bruce Cutler, Leaves Case Over Difference of Opinion

Posted in: Bizarre,Crime,Judicial,Murder

Bruce Cutler, the lead attorney representing Phil Spector has left the murder case citing a Phil_Spectordifference of opinion and closing argument strategy. What’s the differing opinion … Cutler thinks his client is guilty? Or is it a case of rats getting off the sinking ship?

Cutler made the announcement as the trial resumed for what was expected to be the last day of testimony. It wasn’t immediately clear if he quit or if Spector fired him.

Cutler had been absent from the trial for many weeks so he could appear on a syndicated TV show. He told Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler that he was prepared to return and do the closing arguments for Spector, but now, Culter said, “there’s nothing I can do for Mr. Spector. I can no longer effectively represent him.” (Fox)

Bruce Cutler after all this time stated the obvious. Something he would have been better suited to have said from the outset.

In Los Angeles Superior Court Monday, the final day of testimony in the long-gestating trial, Cutler told Judge Larry Paul Fidler:There’s nothing I can do for Mr. Spector. I can no longer effectively represent him.”

67 year old Phil Spector is accused of murdering actress Lana Clarkson at his mansion in Los Angeles, CA in February 2003.
