Bianchi Anthony_Bianchi5was convicted of traveling to Eastern Europe to impoverished Moldova to molest boys in exchange for money and gifts. Bianchi was previously convicted by a Russian Court of molesting children, sent to prison and expelled.

Read actual personal accounts of friend of Scared Monkeys that take the time out of their lives to go to villages in Moldova and visit orphanages in an effort to prevent this very thing from occurring. They try to bring back the self esteem and confidence that these children are so in need of to combat against predators like Bianchi that would take full and complete advantage of them.

Anthony Mark Bianchi faces more than 20 years for traveling to impoverished countries like Moldova and Romania and going to the poor villages to take advantage of the people.

Anthony Mark Bianchi, 45, was convicted of having sex with or attempting to have sex with at least six teenage boys in the isolated Moldovan village of Trebujeni. He faces more than 20 years in prison under sentencing guidelines, prosecutors said.

The Anthony Mark Bianchi case is among more than 50 that have been brought under a largely untested 2003 US law, known as the Protect Act. The law is designed to thwart “sex tourism” by trying suspected overseas child predators in US courts.

The “PROTECT Act of 2003” is an historic milestone for our nation’s children. The Justice Department will dedicate the full force of our nation’s resources against those who victimize our nation’s youth. Important coordinated law enforcement information, fast law enforcement response, and swift and sure penalties can work to protect our children. The PROTECT Act comprehensively strengthens law enforcement’s ability to prevent, investigate, prosecute and punish violent crimes committed against children.

Bianchi’s attorney, Mark Geragos, well known defense attorney to the suspected pedophiles, claimed that he was confident that the verdict would not stand. Why not, the US does so little to prevent predators from walking the streets to harm our children, why would a US Court care to protect children in another country? If this verdict was overturned it would mean a free ticket for predators to molest children in foreign countries for sport. The sport known as “sex tourism”.

U.S. District Judge Bruce Kauffman has already informally approved an evidentiary hearing to explore more deeply the facts surrounding the U.S. and Moldovan governments’ alleged witness intimidation, meaning Bianchi’s conviction theoretically could be vacated.
