ABC/WAPO Obama Job Approval Poll: 47% Approve – 49% Disapprove, Nearly 60% Disapprove of Handling of Economy

So much for the kill Bin Laden bounce for President Barack Obama, the latest ABC/WAPO polling data is disastrous for the President. We the People expect results and are tired of excuses and the blame game. Talk is cheap and his polices have failed.
Brack Obama’s job approval ratings are once again below 50% as only 47% approve of the job that Obama has been doing as president, while 49% disapprove. To make matters even worse, 59% disapprove of Obama’s handling of the economy. The American people are becoming more and more frustrated with Obama’s poor handling of the economy and jobs. As James Carville has stated in the past, “its the economy stupid”. However, Obama and his economic minions and their policies have failed miserably.
See all polling data HERE.
A vast 89 percent of Americans say the economy’s in bad shape. It’s ranged from 87 to 94 percent steadily since spring 2008. This gets old; people want relief. But 57 percent say that in terms of their own experience, the economy has not yet even begun to recover from the recession. And among the minority that says a recovery has begun, 81 percent say it’s a weak one.
The president’s bin Laden bounce is gone. He had a 47 percent job approval rating in April. That bounced to 56 percent in a Post/Pew poll immediately after Osama bin Laden was killed. It’s back, exactly, to 47 percent now. Forty-nine percent disapprove of the president’s performance, including 53 percent of independents, and strong disapprovers outnumber strong approvers by 10 points.
More — 59 percent, a new high — disapprove of Obama’s handling of the economy, which, in a nutshell, is what the public’s frustration is all about. Obama also is back to about an even split with the Republicans in Congress in trust to handle the economy — 42 percent pick him, 45 percent the GOP. This also was essentially tied in December, then moved away from the GOP in January and March; we’re now back to an even division on this most fundamental issue. On the deficit Obama fares worse — 33 percent approval, down six points since April to a career low.
Obama and the Democrats thought they took a shellacking in the 2010 midterms? There is no way with these type of economic numbers and more and more people out of work that Obama will be reelected. As stated at NRO, Obama is hardly a “shoo in” for reelections as much as the out of touch Inside the Beltway folks think. My how that Bin Laden bounce has disappeared. The economy and jobs are the #1 issue for Americans and Obama remains clueless. ‘We the People” are tired of his talk when he says, “you have a President on your side in the White House”. What? You mean a US President would actually have to tell Americans that?

In the link at the Washington Post we discover the breakdown: Democrats 31%, Republicans 25%, independent 39% and have no clue 4%. Buried deep in there is a question about the Tea Party, and they actually increased in favorability, which is now at 46-44%
