Mike Huckabee announced last night during his show on Fox News that he will not seek the Presidential GOP nomination for the 2012. Huckabee had been previously polling well in the early going in hypothetical match ups; however, stated “All the factors say go, but my heart says no.”
“The past few months have been times of deep personal reflection,” Huckabee said. “Even though I wasn’t actively establishing a campaign organization or seeking financial support to run again, polls have consistently put me at or near the top to be the Republican nominee.”
“But I know that under the best of circumstances, being President is a job that takes one to the limit of his or her human capacity,” he continued. “I can’t know or predict the future, but I know for now my answer is clear and firm: I will not seek the Republican nomination for President this year.”
Erick Erickson of Red State has the down low as to who this announcement will hurt and who it will help for GOP contenders. Although some on the RIGHT feel we have dodged another bullet having a RINO out of the GOP race.Personally, I believe the Huck is having too much of a good time in private life and most likely will never seek public office again.
The 2012 Presidential election for Republicans needs to be a continuation of the 2010 midterms where the GOP/Tea Party/Conservatives made major inroads due to the actions and polices of Barack Obama and liberal Democrats. It was not only a shellacking on the federal level, but the state as well. Any Republicans who thinks they have a better job of winning in 2016 and is going to opt out because they feel Obama is unbeatable in 2012 … need never run for the Presidency. The United States is at a crossroads and need GOP candidates that care about the future of the country, not their personal political aspirations.
The MSM would like everyone to believe that there is no GOP front runner that could take on and defeat Obama, so? Who needs a front runner at this point. Recent polls have showed that Obama has no big leads over named opponents for an unknown GOP candidate. Does anyone really think that Obama will poll well closer to the 2012 election is the following continues:
- Economy continues to flounder.
- Unemployment is at 9.0% or even 8.0% for that fact.
- Gas prices high
- Continued unrest in the Middle East
- Flip-flopping on policies that got him elected in 2008.
- Redistricting of states dues to the huge wins in 2010 midterm elections by Republicans.
- Obamacare
- Out of control government spending and Dems request for higher taxes.
- Obama will have to defend his policies of the last 4 years. hardly and hope or change.
- His base hardly inspired by GITMO not closed and US is now in 3 wars, not out of Iraq and Afghanistan.
