Nothing is a sure thing for Democrats in the 2010 Midterm Elections ,Cuomo & Gillibrand clinging on for their political life …
Don’t look now but the once solid lock for the New York Governors race for Democrat Andre Cuomo is no longer. The polls are now down to a single digit lead for Cuomo over tea party Republican Carl Paladino and falling. In the most recent Quinnipiac poll of likely voters, Cuomo only has a 6% point lead over the virtually unknown GOP candidate Carl Paladino. A mere 6 points when at one point this election had been considered a foregone conclusion for Democrats.
“Have I voted for the mayor? Yes,” Cuomo said.

Actually, he didn’t. The Cuomo campaign had to issue a clarification, saying he was only registered to vote in New York City in 2005 when he endorsed Democrat Fernando Ferrer.
It appears that Cuomo is “truth” challenged and got caught in a lie regarding his past voting for NYC Mayor Bloomberg. Some people will do anything to get elected, including embellishing their voting record. Why can’t Democrats in “Deep Blue” states merely just tell the truth about simple issues like their voting record or if they actually served in Vietnam? Instead, they get BUSTED!
Democrat Andrew Cuomo sought to bolster his appeal among independents Wednesday in the race for New York governor with an endorsement from New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, as a new poll showed tea party Republican Carl Paladino gaining ground.
Cuomo held the Bloomberg announcement just hours after the poll results were released. Soon after, Cuomo had to retract his statement during the event that he had once voted for Bloomberg.
In a political environment where the voter so distrust politicians, why would any one in NY vote for a candidate who openly and knowingly lied to them?

Bloomberg states that he will endorse the Democrat Cuomo because he can best deal with voter anger over Albany’s complete dysfunction. Albany is controlled by Democrats, how is the Democrat going to deal with voter anger at a Democrat controlled NY House & Senate?
As for the US Senate seat in New York, prior to the primaries it was considered that this would be a cake walk for the Democrats as there was no serious GOP contender. A funny thing happened 40 days out from the 2010 midterm elections, Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand is barely ahead in the polls including a Survey USA poll that has her ahead by 1% over former Congressman Republican Joe DioGuardi. Also a Quinnipiac University poll that has Gillibrand ahead by only 6%. That is it, 6% in a state that Obama carried in 2008, 63% to 36%. If Democrats are in trouble in a “DEEP BLUE” state like New York, what does that say for their political fortunes in swing states or leans Democrat?
Talk about an anti-incumbent mood against the Democrats and party in power. Red State is also in almost disbelief over the Survey USA poll. In this political environment with a rush of Republican enthuseasm and a discouraged Democrat electorate, all things are possible. Personally I believe we are in for some real surprises election eve in some races no one was watching. The enthuseasm gap is going to make a big difference in the 2010 midterm elections.
The Weekly Standard says, do not forget about the Congressional races in New Your either.
The GOP also has several good prospects for picking up congressional seats in the Empire State. THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned of the results of a private poll just completed in NY-1 (eastern Long Island). The district has been represented by Democrat Tim Bishop since 2002, when he defeated a Republican incumbent in a close race.
