Barack Obama, You’ve Fallen a Long Way Baby …

The most recent Gallup Daily Obama Job Approval poll has The One at a 53% approval, Obama_Hype39% disapproval rating. That certainly is a long way from the once 70%-11% rating back in February 2009. His job approval rating has slipped 3 points from the previous week, and 3points from the week before that. Since early May, Barack Obama has lost 13% points  in his job approval.

There is obviously a direct correlation between the $787 billion Stimulus bill having no effect on stopping unemployment and the debacle that is Obamacare. Obama’s Health care is tanking. With the health care votes being pushed back to October, one wonders how irate the American people will be with this Obamacare the more they find out about the specifics.

In the most recent NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, Obama has slid to a 53% approval ratings. However, the real story is despite the Obama White House’s all out media campaign for Obamacare, only about 40% of voters approve of how he is handling the health care issue. What does this mean for The One? Not only is Obamacare an unmitigated disaster and the people are starting to figure it out, Barack Obama has failed to use his speech, charm and teleprompter to persuade Americans that he is up to the task with regards to health care.

Despite his public-relations blitz over the past two weeks to promote his plans to reform the nation’s health-care system — including holding two town halls on Wednesday — President Barack Obama has lost ground on this issue with the American public, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Pluralities now say that the president’s health care plan is a bad idea, and that it will result in the quality of their care getting worse. What’s more, just four in 10 approve of his handling on the issue.

It has become the ultimate Catch-22 and Obama cannot escape it.

[Thomas Frank of the Wall Street Journal] might need to contemplate the fact that Obama’s personal popularity is falling precisely because of the “reforms” Thomas Frank endorses. It’s a nice catch-22. Socialized medicine needs Obama to be popular in order to pass, and socialized medicine is making Obama unpopular.

Support Slips for Obamacare.

In mid-June, respondents were evenly divided when asked whether they thought Mr. Obama’s health plan was a good or bad idea. In the new poll, conducted July 24-27, 42% called it a bad idea while 36% said it was a good idea.

Among those with private insurance, the proportion calling the plan a bad idea rose to 47% from 37%.

Only two in 10 people predicted the quality of their own care would improve under the Obama plan

In the Rasmussen Presidential Daily Approval Index, Obama still in negative double digit numbers.
