Actor Morgan Freeman in Serious Condition after Car Crash in Mississippi … On the Mend in Memphis, TN Hospital

71 year old, Oscar winning actor Morgan Freeman is in serious condition after a car accident in Mississippi. Freeman was airlifted to the Memphis Regional Medical Center in Memphis, TN. Morgan Freeman is one of my favorite actors of all time. Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Ben Williams said Freeman was driving a 1997 Nissan Maxima belonging to Demaris Meyer of Memphis when the car left a rural highway and flipped several times shortly before midnight Sunday.

“There’s no indication that either alcohol or drugs were involved,” Williams said. He said both Freeman and Meyer were wearing seat belts. The woman’s condition was not immediately available.

Regarding Morgan’s injuries – “Morgan has a broken arm, elbow and has minor shoulder damage but was in good spirits when I spoke with him a short time ago at the Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center at The MED, a Level 1 Trauma Center at the Regional Medical Center at Memphis.

He is having a little bit of surgery this afternoon or tomorrow to help correct the damage. He says he’ll be OK and is looking forward to a full recovery.”
