Ted Kennedy, “Let’s Keep it in the Family … Give my Senate Seat to my Wife” … What is this Feudal England?

Posted in: Barack Obama,Government,Politics,Presidential Election 2008,WTF

Upon the news of Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy’s grave diagnosis of a malignant brain tumor comes news that he wants his wife, Vicki Kennedy, Feudalismto succeed him. So much for electing individuals based on their skill, rather than their birth right or whom they marry.

To the voters of Massachusetts, you live in “New England,”not Medieval feudal England where the crown was passed down in the same family for generations with royal succession. The US political system is not supposed to be one of family entitlement, but sadly for years Massachusetts has ignored that. Why would this come as a shock, Massachusetts liberals have never felt a sense of entitlement. There is something inherently wrong and almost Un-American and certainly undemocratic about the idea of keeping the power with the family.

It would appear that Ted Kennedy wants to give his seat to his wife and bypass the Democratic process. Why is it that Kennedy’s think it is their God given right to be in politics? Better than that, why are the “so much more intelligent people” of Massachusetts brainwashed into believing that “the myth Camelot.”

Ted Kennedy has made clear to confidants that when his time is up, he wants his Senate seat to stay in the family – with his wife, Vicki.

Multiple sources in Massachusetts with close ties to the liberal lion say his wife of 16 years has long been his choice to continue carrying the family flame in the Senate. Kennedy won the seat in 1962; his brother John held it from 1953 to 1960.

“There’s no question that he’d like Vicki to continue in his seat,” said one Massachusetts Democrat with ties to the Camelot clan who spoke to Kennedy recently, before his health crisis.  (Daily News)

The idea of a political family dynasty is some what comical as Hot Air reminds us as it is Barack Obama who rails against the “Clinton’s dynastic politics”. But I guess is different for Obama when one get’s the endorsement of the last Lion of the Kennedy political dynasty.
