World Wide Web (Internet) use overtakes Print and Newspapers … Sense a Trend?

Posted in: Internet,Media

According to the Financial Times, the time that Europeans spend on the internet has Internetovertaken the amount of time they spend reading newspapers and magazines. No shock here. With the popularity of Myspace, Facebook and YouTube is it any wonder? Specific news events are covered on-line by independent blogs in a much more timely manner. By the time the story gets to print, its obsolete. In many cases by the time a story is reported on a nightly cable channel the story is hours old. Old journalism, welcome to the new world.

There is a reason why even the networks execs ask each other … “have you seen Drudge?” There is a reason why The Washington Post wrote the following editorial, Everyone in Our Newsroom Wants to Be a Blogger … “Our largest driver of traffic is Matt Drudge.” However, too bad the MSM does not understand the fine art of blogging.
