Health Care Pimpin’ – Using People’s Tragedies for Obamacare … Natoma Canfield, a Political Prop

Posted in: Barack Obama,Government,Healthcare,Obamacare,Obamanation,WTF

Yesterday, President Barack Hussein Obama was in Ohio to shill for his government controlled health care plan. Or was it pimpin’? Obama goes to Ohio and uses the cancer story of Natoma Canfield as a political health care prop.

So we take a terrible piece of health care legislation and use emotion of and sympathies of this woman’s situation to pass government take over of health care.  Canfield’s letter to Obama is a compelling one, but is it the complete story? Hardly, as the Gateway Pundit opines in his post, wonder why Natoma Canfield was not able to introduce Barack Obama in Ohio yesterday? Because she was in the hospital receiving health care even though she had no insurance.

As Another Black Conservative states, Natoma Canfied is a 50-year-old unemployed woman who had to drop her health insurance because the price went from $5,000 to $8,000.  Natoma is terrified she will soon lose her home.

Wait a minute, lose her house? Does Barack Hussein Obama have the “Making Home Affordable” program that accounts for such things? It allows for loan refinancing and modification. Here are the eligibility requirement, it would appear that Natoma Canfield would qualify. By the way, Canfield is living in a house her parents built. Mortgage, eh?

Cancer Patient Who Wrote to Obama Will Not Lose Home, May Get Aid

Low and behold, looky here … she is actually eligible for Medicaid and charity care. The fact of the matter is it is an individuals responsibility to see what they may and may not be eligible for. Instead of worrying, mitigate your damages.

Natoma Canfield, the cancer-stricken woman who has become a centerpiece of President Obama’s push for health care reform, will not lose her home over her medical bills and will probably qualify for financial aid, a top official at the Cleveland medical center treating her told FoxNews.com.

Though Canfield’s sister Connie Anderson said her sibling is afraid she’ll lose her house and Obama warned at an Ohio rally Monday that the patient is “racked with worry” about the cost of tests and treatment, she is already being screened for financial help.

Lyman Sornberger, executive director of patient financial services at the Cleveland Clinic, said “all indications” at the outset are that she will be considered for assistance.

Do not get me wrong, I do believe that there needs to be some health care reform; however, nothing of what Obama spews is a fix. It is about control. This is about the incremental step to a single health payer system run by the government. While Medicare goes bankrupt, Obama and his cronies look to expand government run health care. Town Hall.com puts it best when it states that if Obama really cared about a health care reform for the people, health care would be maintained by the individual, not insurance carriers, employers or especially the government.

In addition, if the president really wanted to help people like Ms. Canfield, he would encourage the individual ownership rights over health care plans so the American people can maintain control over their health insurance, not employers or the government.
