YES HE DID!!! Scott Brown Wins Mass Senate & the People’s Seat over Coakley … The Bay State Becomes Obama’s Waterloo & the Bay State Backlash

Posted in: 2010 Elections,Barack Obama,Healthcare,Mass: Scott Brown (R) - Martha Coakley (D),Obamacare,Obamanation,Obamanomics,Politics,Senate Elections,We the People

Gas up the truck … Senator elect Scott Brown is on his way to Washington, DC.

The ramifications of tonight’s election will echo a lifetime. Obama won Massachusetts in the 2008 Presidential election by 26%.  However, Barack Obama could provide no coattails, in fact was a detriment to Martha Coakley in one of the most liberal states in America.  Barack Obama … meet the state of Massachusetts, Senator Scott Brown, ABBA and your Waterloo.

THE BOSTON TEA PARTY…
52% SCOTT BROWN (R) 1,153,808
47% MARTHA COAKLEY (D)D: 1,052,391

Waterloo

Tonight, Republican Senate candidate Scott Brown pulled off the upset and defeated Democrat Martha Coakley for the Massachusetts US Senate 52% to 47%. The win by Brown is beyond historic. The election was a referendum on Obama’s policies and Obamacare. Obama lost badly.

Brown addressed a cheering crowd in Boston around 10:30 p.m., telling his exultant backers: “They can hear this cheering all the way in Washington, D.C.”

“I hope they’re paying close attention, because tonight the independent voice of Massachusetts has spoken,” Brown said, holding up a copy of the Boston Herald with the headline: “He did it.”

For a Republican to win the the dark blue state of Massachusetts and of all things winning in a special election for the seat previously held by the late Ted Kennedy defies description. Ted Kennedy who spent his political life time trying to pass socialized health care and who backed Barack Hussein Obama has his previously held seat won by a Democrat who has stated he would end Obamacare. The irony is unbelievable.

The Bay State wanted real “Hope & Change” and got it with upstart, underdog, pickup driving Scott Brown.

What made Scott Brown such an appealing candidate? One just needs to look at the video below. His common sense, common man approach is what America wants and needs. The American voter is not interested in polished, canned speech politicians.

Democrats best learn from this devastating loss or face the further wrath of the American voters in November 2010. If Democrats can lose in Massachusetts, they can lose any where. Suddenly all seats up for election appear to be in danger in the midterm elections. If Democrats continue down this suicide path of Obamacare, they will be taught a lesson they may never recover from.

Some Democrats in not so safe states like Senator Jim Webb of Virginia is already making a shot across the bow of Senate Majority leader Harry Reid and President Barack Obama stating that, “… I believe it would only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Senator-elect Brown is seated.” The game playing is over for Democrats or they will face an all out revolt by the American public. Webb appears that he got the message of tonight’s vote in Mass and is unwilling to walk the plank for Obama.

Calling the race “a referendum not only on health care reform but also on the openness and integrity of our government process” Webb said Democrats need to hold off on further action until Brown is formally sworn in to the chamber.

“It is vital that we restore the respect of the American people in our system of government and in our leaders. To that end, I believe it would only be fair and prudent that we suspend further votes on health care legislation until Senator-elect Brown is seated,” he said.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid indicated Democrats will make no attempts to delay Brown. In a statement tonight, Reid said he will move to seat him “as soon as the proper paperwork has been received.”

According to The Politico, House Democrats are starting to abandon the sinking S.S. Obama.Tuesday night’s bombshell in the Bay State are going to have a ripple effect throughout the Democrat party. Once safe districts and states, are no longer.

Democratic leaders and the White House insisted ahead of the vote they aren’t preparing to desert health care. They admit they’ll have to come up with a new strategy to win passage, but said they didn’t want to allow one Senate race to take them off-course on the president’s top legislative item for the year.

But several House members said Tuesday night that they had no interest in pursuing the most likely scenario for moving ahead with a bill — approving the already-passed Senate version of health reform in the House – and some said President Barack Obama should step back and start over.

In fact, early signs of split emerged as the polls closed in Massachusetts – between leaders like Majority Leader Steny Hoyer who said “the Senate bill is better than nothing,” and individual members who didn’t want to swallow the Senate’s version of health reform whole…

Comments from Democrat Evan Bayh of Indiana and Independent Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. Is Bayh suddenly afraid that Republicans might pick a strong candidate to face him in 2010?

And in the Senate, two moderates, Democrat Evan Bayh of Indiana and Independent Joe Lieberman of Connecticut, separately raised concerns Tuesday about the direction of the Democrats’ agenda, with Bayh saying he feared the Democrats’ policy plans had gone too far to the left.

Who in their right mind would follow Barack Obama and his fatal health care bill off the ledge? The question becomes, why? This may be Obama’s Waterloo, why would other Democrat Senators and House Representatives make it their as well? As Hot Air asks, what do Blue Dog Democrats have to gain by boting yes to Obamacare except for a ticket out of Washington, DC.
