My what a difference the party of the Senate Majority leader makes as the above comments were made by Barack Hussein Obama when talking about racially insensitive comments made by Republican Senate Majority leader Trent Lott.

“I think he should, if the standard is the one set by [Trent Lott],” Steele said on “Fox News Sunday” when asked if Reid should resign his post.

Republican leaders called on Harry Reid to step down as Senate majority leader, Sunday, after the Nevada senator apologized for calling Barack Obama as a “light-skinned” African-American who lacked a “Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one.”

“The reality of it is this, there is this standard where Democrats feel they can say these things and apologize as long as it comes from one of their own,” Republican National Committee Chair Michael Steele said on “Fox News Sunday,” equating Reid’s comments with the racially charged ones that led to the outster of Former Republican Leader Trent Lott. “And if it comes from somebody else, it’s racism.”

America, if racism is not consistent in how we deal with it, how are we ever to think they we are ever going to deal with it and STOP IT! What the media, Democrats, so-called black activists and Barack Obama are telling all of you is that it is OK for a Democrats to make racially insensitive comments behind closed doors, but not Republicans. WHAT!

Racism is racism. If there was ever a moment when folks like Jesse Jackson and  Al Sharpton should be pulling out the “race card” it is now. Sadly, these people are so in bed with one party that they could care less. I guess as long as Democrats do the bidding of the likes of Jackson and Sharpton, they can make any off color comment and simply apologize.

Even President Barack Obama accepted Reid’s apology.  Really Barack … where is the teachable moment? How come you did not during a press conference refer to Reid’s actions as “ACTING STUPIDLY?”

The hypocrisy is astonishing from this President. So racism can only come from the mouths of Republicans and can only be forgiven if one is a Democrat. Let us take a good look at the two faces of Obama when it comes to RACISM:

• In April 2007, then-Sen. Obama told me that NBC should fire Don Imus for his “nappy-headed hos” reference to the Rutgers University women’s basketball team, a comment for which Mr. Imus apologized profusely.
• In December 12, 2002 from an issue of the Chicago Defender Barack Obama said the following when it came to the racially charged comments of then Republican Senate Majority leader Trent Lott … “The Republican Party itself has to drive out Trent Lott. If they have to stand for something, they have to stand up and say this is not the person we want representing our party.”

UPDATE I: Democrats Make Excuses for Reid’s racism comments.

So when Democrats make racist comments it is a mistake and they misspoke.  Let’s remember this the next time the Democrats use the race card. Out of curiosity, if it was a mistake to call Obama a “light-skinned” African-American who lacked a “Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one,” what exactly did Reid mean to say?

Sen. Diane Feinstein of California said Mr. Reid should not resign, and defended his remark as just a “mistake.”

“Clearly, the leader misspoke. He has also apologized. He’s not only apologized to the president, I think he’s apologized to all of the black leadership that he could reach,” she said.
