You Mean Al Sharpton Doesn’t Have Anything Esle Better to do than Block Rush Limbaugh Buying the NFL’s St Louis Rams?
Al Sharpton playing the racism card with the NFL. America … are you sick and tired of this nonsense yet?
A word to the wise to NFL commissioner Robert Goodell and the NFL powers that be. Ever take a good look at your NFL marketing product? The American flag waving and the supporting of the military; all of these are not liberal values.
Can some one please explain to me what business is it of Al Sharpton to interject himself in a private citizen wanting to buy a piece of an NFL team? Will playing the race card make a difference in the process? However, that is exactly what race-baiter Al Sharpton is doing. Al Sharpton looks to prevent an individual from owning a NFL team because he is a “White Conservative.” Is this the precedent that the NFL wants?
In the end whether Rush Limbaugh buys the St. Louis Rams or not, his point will be made. If you are a White Conservative, you are targeted and called a racist. Funny, the Democratic party has been doing a lot of that lately haven’t they? And everyone thought that once Barack Obama was elected that race relations would change. Why does it appear then that they have become worse?
By the way Al, you mean that you have nothing else better to do than interject yourself in another persons private business dealing? Maybe you should have been more concerned about Charlie Rangel’s tax difficulties? Or maybe, just maybe you could have spoke out against the heinous, brutal, hate crime rape and murder Christopher Newsom and Channon Christian in Knoxville, TN. Hmm? I thought so!
Al Sharpton has sent a letter to the NFL trying to block conservative radio talk show host from buying a share of the St. Louis Rams. Sharpton claims that Limbaugh has been “anti-NFL” is his comments. Anti-NFL? What exactly does that mean? Out of curiosity Al, do you even watch the NFL? The the shakedown letter HERE.
In a letter sent to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday, Sharpton wrote that he was “disturbed” to hear about Limbaugh’s interest in the Rams and asked for a meeting with Goodell “to discuss the myriad of reasons as to why [Limbaugh] should not be given an opportunity” to purchase the team.
Sharpton argued that Limbaugh has been “anti-NFL” in his comments about several of the league’s players, specifically naming Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks Michael Vick and Donovan McNabb. Limbaugh sparked controversy several years ago by contending that the media want McNabb to succeed simply because he is black.
The question that I would ask is who is politicizing the NFL? Is this a path that you really want to go down? Sharpton joined NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith in urging the league to prevent Limbaugh from owning a team. This is still America, right? Do you see Rush Limbaugh petitioning the NFL in preventing any black players from playing do you? I did not think so. Just what the NFL needed, individuals playing the race card to prevent American values of ownership.
“But sport in America is at its best when it unifies, gives all of us reason to cheer, and when it transcends,” Smith wrote. “Our sport does exactly that when it overcomes division and rejects discrimination and hatred.”
