2010 Delaware Senate Election: Republican Mike Castle 47%, Democrat Beau Biden 42%

The race is in for VP Joe Biden’s Senate seat in Delaware.

Once again there are more concerns for the Democratic Party for the 2010 midterm election. A recent Rasmussen poll shows that Republican challenger Mike Castle beats Attorney General Beau Biden by five points – 47% to 42%. Mike Castle has yet to decide whether he will run against Beau Biden, the son of VP Joe Biden.

The first Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 survey in the state finds that longtime Republican Congressman Mike Castle beats state Attorney General Beau Biden by five points – 47% to 42% – in a hypothetical match-up for the seat Biden’s father held for 36 years. Five percent (5%) like some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

Against the only declared GOP candidate for the race, Christine O’Donnell, Biden wins by nine points – 49% to 40%. Three percent (3%) prefer another candidate, and eight percent are not sure (8%) how they’ll vote.

What is certain is that Democrats find them self now if battles for numerous Senate seats. What will that picture look like in 2010 if unemployment numbers are over 10% and the current political and economic situation gets no better? The Democratic party is going to have to spend money on many races that have always been a given.
