Only 22% of Americans Think Congress Will Understand Obamacare Before they Cast Vote

Is it any wonder why Americans have such a poor outlook on Congress and have said in the past that they want to throw all the bums out? Now according to a recent Rasmussen poll, only 22% of Americans think that Congress will actually understand the healthcare bill before them when they vote. Only two in ten will actually take the time to understand what they are about to inflict upon “We the People”.
While majority Democrats in Congress struggle to put together a final health care reform plan, just 22% of U.S. voters believe that most members of Congress will understand what is in the plan before they vote on it.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey shows that 55% think most members of Congress will not understand what is in the health care plan before casting their vote. Twenty-three percent (23%) aren’t sure.
Most Americans do not even believe that Congress will even read the bill prior to voting. Shouldn’t that be a law passed by Congress, mandatory reading of legislation prior to a vote? Maybe there can be a pop quiz as well.
Most voters say it’s unlikely that most members of Congress will have read the bill before voting: 40% say it’s not very likely, and another 13% say it’s not at all likely.
