54% of Americans Oppose “Cash for Clunkers” Plan … Next up Cash for Dunkers
Posted in: Barack Obama,Economy,Government,Polls,WTF
The federal government is now in the business of bailing out people with old gas guzzling cars. Or should I say tax payers are, good grief. However, like most spending plans that Obama and the Democrats are putting forth and passing these days, Americans are against it.
Next up for this White House will be a subsidy plan that pays individuals for “cash for dunkers.” Anyone who can successfully show that they have dunked a cookie in a glass of milk will be paid up to 70% of the cost of the carton of milk and bag of Oreo’s. Does this really seem that far fetched from this Administration?
In a recent Rasmussen poll, 54% of Americans oppose the Cash for Clunkers, 35% were in favor and 12% were undecided and watching Jon & Kate Plus 8 announcing their divorce.
Congress now has sent its “Cash for Clunkers” bill to President Obama to sign into law, but most Americans oppose the plan to encourage people to trade in old cars for new, more fuel-efficient models. Few adults plan to take advantage of the program at this time.
How bad is the “Cash for Clunkers” legislation? The gas guzzling bail out bill had to be attached to a war funding bill in order to be passed. It could never stood on its own and passed. Instead, more wasteful spending was piggy-backed on the brace efforts of America’s military.

Then it dawned on me: It didn’t have to! It’s a government program. As long as it’s paved with good intentions, it doesn’t matter if the road goes nowhere.
