Florida Democratic Primary Revote is DOA … Michigan Still Hopefull For Do Over

The Florida Democratic primary vote is a colossal nightmare and blunder for Democrats. It appears that any chance for a do over re-vote is dead. One really must wonder how a candidate could ever be chosen by the people without Florida and Michigan being in the mix. How could it have come to this … what a mess.

The Florida Democratic Party has closed the door on a second primary to resolve the delegate issue, a blow to the Clinton campaign’s desire to hold a re-vote and recreate its Florida victory within the rules.

The Florida Democratic Party chair Karen Thurman sent a letter to state Democrats informing them that the party’s proposal for a combination vote-by-mail and in-person voting primary on June 3 is dead.

“This doesn’t mean that Democrats are giving up on Florida voters. It means that a solution will have to come from the DNC Rules & Bylaws Committee, which is scheduled to meet again in April,” Thurman writes.

While the decision by Florida Democrats left the state’s 210 delegates in limbo, Democrats in Michigan moved closer to holding another contest on June 3. Legislative leaders reviewed a measure Monday that would set up a privately funded, state-administered do-over primary, The Associated Press learned.
