Michael Vick Admits Admits Guilt in Dog Fighting and Apologizes … AFTER BEING CAUGHT!

So was the Michael Vick apology sincere? Or was it just part of the scripted attempt by Team Vick to rehabilitate his career? Talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words! A dream career that Michael Vick all but washed down the drain by associating himself with something as barbaric as dog fighting.

One thing is for certain, if Vick’s apology is to be believed in any form he needs to go away out of the public eye and rehabilitate the man, not the football player. When one rehabilitates them self in the media, it is for only one purpose. Canceling a radio appearance this morning was about the most intelligent think Mike Vick has done in 28 years.

If you claim you have found God, as stated in your press conference, then its time Michael that you do grow up and as they say … get right with the Lord.

Yesterday Michael Vick, soon to be ex-Atlanta Falcon QB, pleaded guilty to federal dog fighting charges. All those allegations that people have defended Vick for and claimed he did not do, Vick pleased guilty too. Then came the supposed heart felt apology.

“First I want to apologize for all the things that I’ve done and that I have allowed to happen,” the star quarterback said at a news conference following his appearance in U.S. District Court to formally enter the plea.

He also apologized to “all the young kids out there for my immature acts and what I did – and what I did was very immature. So that means I need to grow up.”

“I totally ask for forgiveness and understanding as I move forward to bettering Michael Vick the person, not the football player,” he said.

He concluded by saying, “I offer my deepest apologies to everyone. And I will redeem myself. I have to.”

Give Vick tough time, but not lifetime ban

Michael Vick does deserve a long suspension from the NFL; however, he should not be banned. If a NFL owner is crazy enough to hire him so be it. However, just as a NFL team is allowed to hire Vick, people will also have the right to protest any such team and their sponsors. That is the baggage you get when Vick puts on your uniform.
