WHAT ALTERNATE UNIVERSE DO THESE PEOPLE LIVE IN … OBAMA’S ECONOMIC POLICIES EFFECTIVE, BUT ROMNEY IS RIDICULOUS …
WOW, talk about an Obama White House with some balls and complete disdain for “We the People”. Was it lost on anyone today that the Obama WH trotted out a tax cheat like Treasury Secretary “Turbo Tax” Tim Geithner to be the mouth piece for Obama on April 15th, tax day?
Really, “Obama’s economic policies have been incredibly effective” & I blame all my ills n Turbo Tax
It gets better, or worse as the case may be. In an interview on ABC’s ‘This Week’ with George Stephanopoulos, Tim Geithner called Romney’s argument that women have been disproportionately hurt during the recession “a ridiculous argument”. Really? The numbers are accurate, yet the Obamaites continue the spin. What is even more unbelievable is that the Obama WH is continuing the failed “war on women” meme. But, as also stated at Jammie Wearing Fool, when one has nothing else to run on but failed polices, a distraction is all Obama has.
“It’s a ridiculous argument. Ridiculous. It’s been largely debunked this week by the people who have looked at it,” Geithner told George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s This Week. “It’s a ridiculous way to look at the problem. And this is a political moment and you’re going to be seeing — just to borrow a line from Mario Cuomo — ‘you’re going to see a lot of politicians choose to campaign in fiction, but we have to govern in fact.’”
While “Turbo Tax” Timmy is on the subject of ridiculous, what would anyone call it when some one says that Barack Obama’s economic polices have been incredibly effective? Seriously Mr. Treasury Secretary, one has to wonder how you kept a straight face when making such a false and foolish comment.
EFFECTIVE? The reason why Obama has such a poor job approval rating and is in a battle for his political life for reelection in 2012 is that many believe his policies have not been effective. The Obama job recovery is one of the slowest in history. The full transcript from the ABC ‘s ‘This Week’ can be read HERE.
GEITHNER: But the — the actions the president took, at considerable political cost at the time — as you know, he had no support for them from the Republicans — were incredibly effective in preventing a Great Depression, getting growth restarted again very, very quickly.
You know, again, it’s important to look back at, you know, this was a — a financial crisis caused by a shock larger than what caused the Great Depression, caused by a lot of borrowing, a lot of risk-taking, too much investment in housing. And it takes time to work off those things. That makes recoveries following financial crises slower than were other — than they would otherwise be.
STEPHANOPOULOS: But you also get right to the heart of something that’s puzzling a lot of economists and a lot of Americans. They’ve seen these profits go up. They’ve seen the Dow go up. But they haven’t seen jobs created in a real, consistent way, and they haven’t seen their wages go up.
Make no mistake about it, the only reason why the unemployment rate is at 8.2% is because so many Americans have dropped out of the job market. Not because of any Obama policies that have created job growth. As reported at Zero Hedge, Record 1.2 Million People Fall Out Of Labor Force In One Month, Labor Force Participation Rate Tumbles To Fresh 30 Year Low … Now how has Obama’s polices been “incredibly effective” again? Could some one please tell me again how this fool was confirmed Treasury Secretary?
UPDATE I: Oh, and Turbo Timmy was an CBS’s ‘Face the Nation’ as well spewing the same talking points. Because far from it that the Obama Administration hasn’t been “misleading and ridiculous” for the past 3+ years.
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner pushed back on Mitt Romney’s statements that women made up almost all jobs lost during the Obama presidency.
“It’s misleading and ridiculous,” Geithner said on CBS News’ “Face the Nation.” “It’s just a political moment.”
On the campaign trail, Romney attempted to turn the discussion to women and the economy, blaming President Obama for hurting women’s checkbooks.
