NBA Classless Thugs: LA LAKERS Get Swept From the Playoffs By Dallas Mavericks (VIDEO)

Los Angeles Lakers Bloods … The Lakers used to be ‘Showtime,” today they were “THUG LIFE”.

Los Angeles Lakers embarrassed themselves today in their loss to the Dallas Mavericks 122 – 86 and were swept out of the NBA playoffs. However, the embarrassment was not because they lost by 36 points in what was Lakers coach Phil Jackson’s last game, it was the thug, bush league play by the Lakers in the 4th quarter.

First the Lakers did this … as playing with any dignity was lost in the process of LA being beat by the Maverick’s bench. So much for losing like a champion.

And then it got worse … as the Lakers decided that trying to injure another was more important than just losing with class.

While getting beat by 30+ points, the Lakers could not lose as champions, they lost like street gang thugs. First Lamar Odom was tossed from the game due to a flagrant foul against the Maverick’s Dirk Nowitzki. Then to make matters even worse, Laker’s Andrew Bynum inexplicably forearmed and shoved Maverick guard J.J Barea to the court as he was attempting a layup. Bynum was thrown out of the game as well. It was summed up by Laker, Hall of Fame Great Magic Johnson, the Lakers embarrassed the organization by getting blown out and classless acts.

Lamar Odom was whistled for a flagrant-2 foul for setting an illegal screen on a blind-sided Dirk Nowitzki with 9:06 remaining in the fourth and the Lakers trailing 94-68.

Not long after, after the Mavs lead had grown to 100-68, Andrew Bynum was also thrown out of the game for a flagrant foul 2 for spearing an airborne J.J. Barea in the ribs with 8:21 remaining in the fourth when Barea was driving in the lane.

Trust issues, the LA Lakers have more than trust issues. This team needs to be broken up in the off season and major wholesale changes need to be done. There is no excuse for one of the model franchises in the NBA to act in such a way. There is something seriously wrong with this team and the locker room is obviously out of control.

What a pathetic display of sportsmanship and basketball. So this is how the Phil Jackson legacy ends in LA. By coaching a team that appears uncoachable. Who would have ever have thought that after the years of coaching, 11 rings, 13 championship appearances, coaching players like Jordan, Pippen, Bryant, Shaq and Rodman would end with such a classless display by a Jackson coached team.

What a sad way for Phil Jackson to go out and such an embarrassing elimination from the NBA playoffs, but I will say good riddance to the LA Lakers. The Dallas Mavericks move on to the Western Conference Finals.

UPDATE I: Even the Kevin McHale clothesline of Kurt Rambis in the 1984 Finals (VIDEO) was not on this level. For one, it was a different era of the NBA and hard fouls were considered part of the game; two, McHale kind of went after the ball and it was in the heat of a competitive game as the score was 76-70 Lakers in the 3rd quarter.
