Dave Holloway; “I can’t stand behind the call for a boycott against Aruba.” I am a man of patience.
Posted in: Missing Persons,Natalee Holloway
Yesterday in an interview with the Aruban newspaper Bon Dia. Dave Holloway stated that, ” I can’t stand behind the call for a boycott against Aruba.” In the many conversations that I have had with Dave Holloway he has pretty much expressed the same point of view.
Although he has shared the same frustration with the fact that the three suspects, Joran Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe brothers were released, Dave has always believed that it be better to take the sure and methodical route than one that will not properly prosecute those that are responsible for his daughter Natalee’s disappearance. Dave Holloway discussed this with Scared Monkeys prior to his trip to Aruba.
In his interview with Bon Dia, September 19 issue Dave Holloway also went on to state the following:
“I want the Police Force of Aruba to know, that I support them, just like I support the entire community of Aruba. Because only with the help of Aruba, eventually we will solve this case”, according to Dave Holloway, who added that he received all assurances that the investigation will go on.
Dave Holloway does not think that there was a cover up in the investigation of Natalee Holloway. He is aware that probably at the beginning the police were ‘on the wrong track,’ meaning that they were following the wrong lead. But, then the correct road was taken. “They are after, truth.
The case has been going on for three and half months, and still nothing has been found of Natalee. But there are cases that go on much more longer than this. I am a man of patience.”
One of the comments that has been lost by the many who have discussed this interview in the sense that they would rather see this as a division in the Twitty/Holloway camp over a supposed boycott that the following comment by Dave Holloway:
He emphasizes that Dr. Phil does not reflect his thoughts at all. And he believes that every American who watched that show will eventually make their own conclusions. “I can’t talk for others. But I can’t see why 100,000 people should be affected by the acts of three, others who are not even from Aruba.”
Many have wondered why Arubans have not come out against this very fact. Aruba’s reputation and perception in the US is being based on the actions of individuals who are not even Aruban. One must really consider what Dave Holloway is doing. I truly hope that Aruba and Arubans appreciate and understand his compassion. It takes a big man in Dave Holloway not to wish and want retribution upon an island as a whole where his daughter has disappeared stating how could it be fair to actual Arubans when the individuals that everyone seems to be questioning as responsible for the disappearance of Natalee Holloway are not even Aruban. Seems like it would be fair play and good form for Arubans to use the same thought process.
The rest of the interview from Bon Dia is translated as follows:
The investigation received a hit when the three principal suspects recovered their freedoms, based on the decision of the judge. This shows that this case in not easy, and harder work is needed.
Although Dave Holloway does not go in details on what Beth Twitty said about the declarations of Joran, where he admitted to have had relations with Natalee while the youngster was constantly losing consciousness. The only thing that the father said was “I watched the show. We all watched the show. I can’t go in that direction. We have a job to do, we have to keep looking forward. I have new information to give the Police Force, that we received via the email helpfindnatalee@comcast.net ”
Will not talk to press about new information
Dave Holloway gave his word to the Police Force that he would not divulge any information to the press, neither local nor American, about any new development in the investigation. The father of Natalee says that at the beginning of the case, he himself tried to avoid talking to the American media, especially because his goal was to look for his child. Eventually he could not avoid this any longer, but now, although he will keep on talking to the press he will not divulge anything about the investigation.Holloway says that his aware of all the comments, all the arguments, and the amount of people who came to Aruba can affect the quality of the investigation. But, Dave is grateful for all the help he and the rest of the family received. There are many people who came just to help, tourists who sacrificed their vacations to help, but definitely many Arubans who also helped well. But of course there were some who just wanted to have television attention to sell themselves or their product,” according to Dave.
For what deals with the investigation itself, the police are in charge. There are many possibilities, many directions in which this case can be continued, according to the father of Natalee. Until now the only determined fact is, that Natalee left Carlos & Charlie’s with the three suspects. From there, there can be an endless amount of theories.
“That is why, every person who has a tip, no matter how small, give it to the police or give it to us. It can help.”
“The Natalee Holloway Fund”Everybody in Aruba know knows that there is a “Natalee Holloway Fund”, where people can contribute with money to cover the costs of the families in the process of finding Natalee Holloway. Thus concerts were already organized, and there was even an auction where famous artists like Courtney Cox of ‘Friends’ contributed. And although Dave is the father of the missing young girl, he has no access to those funds. “I don’t know the reason why I can’t get to that money yet. But I was able to cover the expenses of my trips to Aruba with help of my Church.”
Dave Holloway said that his absence from his business has affected his income. He is self-employed, and so had to look for someone to help him, meaning that he has even more expenses.
On the matter of life insurance, Dave denies that he took out a life insurance of millions on his daughter. And he also discards the possibility that Natalee ran way from home, seeing all that Natalee herself was telling him and the plans that his daughter was telling him about that she wanted to accomplish before she started with the University.
Referring to the possibility of kidnapping by others, Dave Holloway does not discard this completely. He himself was not aware that the sons of Jar Twitty, meaning the brother of Natalee’s stepfather were also in Aruba. He himself does not know these youngsters.
But, one thing is for sure, Dave Holloway will keep on looking with his daughter, with the cooperation of the Aruban authorities, and if he has to wait for years, he will do this. “God only knows why He made us take this this road. He guides us. And although we cannot understand why right now, I am sure that there is always a good reason for everything.”
Those who want to give a tip, without risk, or want to give a contribution to the expenses of Dave Holloway, they can do this at the email helpfindnatalee@comcast.net
