Run Rossi, Run!!! Dino Rossi Expected to Enter Washington Senate Race Against Dem Patty Murray

Will Republican Dino Rossi run for the US Senate seat in Washington state and challenge incumbent Patty Murray? Some  say yes. After all the rumors will Rossi run?

Republican Dino Rossi is hiring key campaign staffers and is expected to officially enter the U.S. Senate race against incumbent Patty Murray as early as Wednesday.

Pat Shortridge, senior strategist for Florida Republican Senate candidate Marco Rubio, has signed on to become Rossi’s campaign manager, according to a person directly involved with Rossi’s campaign. Shortridge, a political consultant based in Minnesota, was an aid to former House Majority Leader Dick Armey. Politico first reported that Shortridge has signed on with Rossi.

The most recent Rasmussen poll showed that Rossi only trailed incumbent US Washington Senator Parry Murray by 2% points, 48% to 46%.

The truth of the matter is that Rossi represents the GOP’s best chance at winning the US Senate seat in Washington and if Rossi runs, the Republicans bring WA back into play and could maybe just take back the US Senate in 2010.
