RUT-ROH … Democrat favorability rating hits 18 year low. This represents an all time low in the Gallup poll for Democrats since the polling began in 1992. Hardly the news that Democrats wanted to see going into the 2010 midterm elections.
The downward trend for Democrats will spell disaster this Fall. Is it any wonder why Obama is in full socialist agenda mode with cramming his policies down the throats of America. He has until Fall and then the gig is up.
Gallup last measured party images in late August/early September of last year. At that point, the Democratic Party enjoyed an 11-point favorable image advantage over the Republican Party. Now, the favorable ratings of the two parties are essentially tied.
The images of the two major parties have particular significance in a midterm election year. For example, the favorable rating of the Democratic Party exceeded that of the Republican Party by 52% to 37% just prior to the 2006 midterm elections, in which the Democrats gained 31 House seats.
As Hot Air points out in their analysis, the GOP present now leads 42/41 for the first time since 2005. Although the lead is slight, it is the poll trending that needs to be examined.
Look for political carnage this Fall in the midterm elections for Democrats. as stated at Powerline, “it has taken Obama less than 15 months to do for the Democrats what it took Bush eight years to do for the Republicans”.
