Senate Democrats in Trouble in NY Too … Dem Kirsten Gillibrand in Dead Heat with former Governor George Pataki

Posted in: 2010 Elections,Politics,Polls,Senate,Senate Elections

Could Democrats lose the Senate seat by Kirsten Gillibrand as well in 2010?

According to the most recent Rasmussen poll, incumbent Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand is in a dead heat with for NY Republican governor George Pataki. Gillibrand leads Pataki 44% to 42%; however, once again an incumbent Donkey is polling below the 50% line which is a read flag for any candidate seeking reelection.

Candidates for New York’s U.S. Senate seat come and go, but the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey in the state finds Democratic incumbent Kirsten Gillibrand still in a virtual dead heat with former Governor George Pataki.

Gillibrand now holds a statistically insignificant 44% to 42% lead over Pataki. Just four percent (4%) would vote for some other candidate, while nine percent (9%) are undecided.

However, the former New York governor has not yet announced that he is running for US Senate. For the love of God George, Republicans have a chance of winning back the Senate and a pick up in NY or CA could be the wild card that gets the Republican party over the top.

A recent round up of the Senate races has Republicans potentially at this point picking up 9 seats … could there be a 10th?
