North Carolina Senate Election 2010: Richard Burr (R) Leads Democrat Challengers Marshall & Cunningham

Posted in: 2010 Elections,Politics,Polls,Senate Elections

From Scott Rasmussen, Republican Senate incumbent from Richard Burr is far out ahead of the Democrat challengers Elaine Marshall, Call Cunningham and Ethridge. Even though Burr is polling under 50% in some of the head to head matches, it is highly unlikely with the political climate in the United States that this seat will change hands. It should represent a Republican Senate hold in 2010.

Incumbent Republican Richard Burr leads two potential leading Democratic challengers in this year’s U.S. Senate race in North Carolina. However, his numbers continue to display potential weakness.

A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in North Carolina finds Burr ahead of Elaine Marshall 47% to 37%. Six percent (6%) favor another candidate, and 10% are undecided. That’s little changed since September.
