John Kerry so-called “botched joke” Could Spell a Botched 2006 Midterm Election for Democrats

Posted in: Media,Politics

As the Republican Party sends John Kerry flowers for his November gift, Democrats are beside themselves, especially those in tight races in predominately Republican areas. Ask Democrat Harold Ford Jr in TN if he is happy about the latest turn of events.

The Democratic leadership has whisked Kerry away into the “Democratic Witness Protection Program”. Why? So that John Kerry would not let the American public know any more of their secrets or actually have the electorate wake up and realize what a Democratic Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed run House and Senate would be like 24/7/365.

Kerry did not say anything any different or worse than other Democrats or supporters have said in the past against our toops. The problem was that it was one week before an election. The battle for control of both the House & Senate was going to be close, did Kerry just swing the vote in the other direction? If Democrats lose in the midterms, they will never forgive him.

Johk Kerry Gag

This story is much bigger than the Democrats or MSM wants to admit. Instead we have the MSM like Chris Matthews of MSNBC trying to make excuses for Kerry. This isn’t going away and it has mobilized the Republican base. A base that many Democratic strategists hoped stay home.

Now that Kerry has apologized, I guess Kerry was against apologizing before he was for it.

The problem that Democrats and the media is having is defending or explaining away Kerry so-called joke, is it had no punch line. How exactly does he miss a word “us” when the video clearly shows he was looking straight down at his notes prior to making the foolish comment.

There was a reason why Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed were keeping in the background. Out of nowhere comes John Kerry who is not even running has let the cat out of the bag. John Kerry has effectively made the political dialogue about him. Now that he has cowardly apologized on his web site … the story will continue to have legs. Kerry has done something that so many Republican candidates could not … Kerry awakened a sleeping giant and has outraged the Republican base.

Flubbed Joke Makes Kerry a Political Punching Bag, Again

Mr. Kerry’s advisers were trying to figure out the damage as he considers a 2008 run.

The long-term problem was not so much that he appeared to be insulting the troops — although that did not help, when his message rests so much on his military service and concern for veterans. It was more that his remarks left a segment of his own party, and perhaps the electorate, wondering if he has the agility and political skill to compete at the highest level.

“Do you need to go to joke school?” one reporter asked him.

“Sure,” Mr. Kerry replied — a notably concise answer for a senator who typically speaks in paragraphs. (NY Times)

However, the fact of the matter is that some are defending John Kerry’s comments. While he is apologizing others are not as seen in an editorial in The Tennessean. There are many that feel joke or no joke, John Kerry did nothing wrong.
