CBS Finally Wins a Night

Well the overnight ratings are in for the CBS Nightly News:

DAN RATHER PULLS TOP AUDIENCE FOR ANCHOR FINALE; CBS EVENING NEWS 7.3 RATING/13 SHARE OVER NBC NIGHTLY 6.5/12 OVER ABC WORLD 6.4/12

It would seem that CBS’s best chance in the ratings war would be to just announce every night that Dan was leaving. Who finds it just a bit amusing that Rather’s best ratings and CBS wins the night when he departs on his last show. I think the ratings may have been boosted by Conservative households just making sure he was gone for good.
