Natalee Holloway; Prayer Vigil In Aruba

Posted in: Natalee Holloway

There is not much new information coming out of Aruba with reference to missing teen, Natalee Holloway. Although Aruban authorities have stated that government employees are allowed to take the day off and search for the missing teen.

Last night there was a prayer vigil in Aruba at what I am assuming was the California Lighthouse.

As AP reports today with regards to the two men arrested yesterday in San Nicolas, Aruba:

“The charges have a relationship with the disappearance,” Janssen said. “There is a reasonable suspicion they may be involved.”

According to CNN FBI dive teams leave Monday to go to Aruba.

Investigators on Monday planned to send an FBI dive team into the Caribbean waters off Aruba, where an 18-year-old Alabama student vanished a week ago at the end of a graduate class trip.

Police on Sunday charged two security guards with crimes related to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.

9:00 am EDT: In an interview this morning with Fox & Friends, Mountain Brook, AL Mayor Terry Oden was pretty tight lipped about speculating at what may have happened to Natalee Holloway. He was certainly somber when conducting the interview and only made mention when asked to speculate and and I paraphrase, “I have seen the dark side of life in my career.”

*** UPDATE ***

Suspects arrested named by source although police will not confirm

9:15 am EDT – Birmingham News

ORANJESTAD, Aruba – Aruban police arrested and interrogated two men Sunday whom they believe were spotted with a missing Mountain Brook teen shortly before she disappeared a week ago.

The two men, known drug dealers, may have connections with three others targeted earlier as “persons of interest,” according to police.

Police identified the two suspects only as Aruban residents aged 28 and 30. They were security guards at the vacant Allegro hotel, which authorities picked through Saturday as part of the ongoing search for Natalee Holloway, 18. A security guard from the casino attached to the hotel identified one of the detainees as Mickey John of Granada, and the other only as Elvis from the nearby island of Bonaire. Police would not confirm those names.

11:30 AM EDT: News Briefing supposed to occur in Aruba by authorities.
