A Great Weekend with Tremendous People
Posted in: Bloggers,Fun,Personal
After spending the weekend at BlogNashville, I am absolutely impressed by the breadth of talent, knowledge, and intellectual curiosity of the folks that attended the event possess. There was more information available than I could ever absorb in a weekend, and the hospitality by the organizers and Belmont University was above the call of duty.
Looking around I was amazed that the people who were directly responsible for creating the framework of the blogworld were in attendance. These great people are also working to develop the next generation of blogging tools. Amazing, amazing people.
And in the same room as these luminaries there were others who know the subject matter that they write about in-depth and can use only the base blogging tools. These folks would look around in awe at the tools people were using to make blogging easier or expanding the breadth of services offered.
Most, including me, had a comfortable knowledge with the basic tools and were intent on learning the more as time will allow.
What is great about the blog world is that all groups are welcome, and everyones knowledge is respected. The effort to communicate and collaborate honestly and precisely is the key to success. BlogNashville was and is bigger than our political ideologies, our technical talents and skills. It is about recognizing that blogging is something that is revolutionary. Putting the power to communicate and interact with people all around the world in the hands of every man and women that will take the time to learn the most basic tools.
That is truly amazing to me.
I am planning on doing a post thanking all of the wonderful and talented people I met this weekend. We were warmly received, treated with respect, and educated both in the sessions and in the hallways. I will be forever in all of your debt for this.
Thank You, everyone.
(When I return to Atlanta, I plan on doing a more specific post thanking everyone specifically, but I need to get in the car and back to my loving wife and family. It is Mother’s Day, and I am not dumb enough to spend this day posting in all my free time!)
