Aruban Responsibility: Safety Issues with Quad Racers and Tourists

So how long will Aruba wait until implementing tourist Quad-racer safety rules? Are accidents and injuries not  enough? Or does something worse have to happen first?

Another tourist in Aruba has gotten into an accident and injured while driving a Quad-racer. This is just another is a rash of recent tourist quad racer accidents. At what point does Aruba standards to those using quad racers or are they too concerned with the money made from renting them to tourists? It is Aruba’s responsibility to set guidelines and rules, not just hoping tourists know what and where to go.

Quad-racers recently destroyed quite a few turtle eggs during a wild ride through the dunes. Arikok National Park foundation that is responsible for the management of the park is considering a possible ban of quad-racers in the national park.

How can anyone blame anyone for anything if there are no rules stating where a quad-racer is permitted to go? If turtle eggs are so important and precious to Aruba, why would you let anyone near them? Aruban officials know where turtle eggs might be, a tourist does not. Imagine this, turtle eggs destroyed and Texas EquuSearch was not even in Aruba. Or was it starting fires in landfills? Aruba, you are responsible to set policies when it comes to tourism safety and your own island natural resource protection, not blame tourists. Then again, that has become quite the norm in Aruba … as the tourist is always wrong and to blame.

ORANJESTAD – Yet another tourist got injured due to an accident with a quad-racer yesterday. A tourist collided with a garbage truck near Santa Lucia last Monday; on Tuesday morning, a tourist lost control of her quad-racer and collided with a rock. The woman was injured and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. Quad-racers recently destroyed quite a few turtle eggs during a wild ride through the dunes. Arikok National Park foundation that is responsible for the management of the park is considering a possible ban of quad-racers in the national park.
