Living Wills – Are they all that they are cracked up to be
Michelle Malkin does an outstanding job of discussing the benefits of a living will, and when and where they are effective. My wife and I talked about doing new living wills in a couple of weeks, and we still will. Michelle brings up the fact that they typically are not very effective unless they are done while someone is near death, and there typically can not be the specificity in the document to allow the DNR to take place.
She recommends getting a Durable Power of Attorney for health care as a more effective alternative.
