A VCB Security Shirt is Found in June, 2005; Suddenly there is an urge to arrest Geoffrey van Cromvoirt
Posted in: Aruba,Natalee Holloway
It has been 11 months since Natalee Holloway went missing. So many searches. So many false leads. So many individuals arrested and then released. Now, 19 year old Geoffrey van Cromvoirt is arrested on Saturday in connection with the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. A name that not even the family has heard of in all this time. The connection seems to be a shirt that was found in Aruba during a search with what is described at “forensic evidence” on it. This might come as a bombshell if for only one reason. The shirt was found June 6, 2005. Could someone define “forensic evidence” and explain if this was at all relevant why it is only now being made a big deal?
Found in the Colony area were the following items:
- Shirt with logo of security company
- sunglasses
- spray bottle containing an unnamed suspicious material
- foam

From Nancy Grace; April 17, 2006:
GRACE: All right. Now, what is his connection, this new guy that has now been arrested — we know that the Dutch can hold him for about eight days. He`s being questioned as we speak. He`s got a court appearance tomorrow. What is his connection with a T-shirt that was found on the south end of the island that we are told has forensic evidence on it?
MANSUR: Well, I don`t know. I don`t know anything about it. What I do know is that about 10 months ago, a T-shirt or a uniform of the company of his father, the security company, was found half-buried under the sand on the beach and that his father was interrogated at that time, but nothing came out of it.
GRACE: The T-shirt itself was found half-buried, is that what you said? MANSUR: Yes. Yes.
GRACE: OK, Jossy, where was the T-Shirt found In connection to where Van Der Sloot says he left Natalee?
MANSUR: No, this T-shirt was found way…
GRACE: OK. MANSUR: … on the other side of the island.
This shirt was found around the same time as the bloody mattress was found in the southwest part (Colony area) of the island in St. Nicolas. Later that day it was reported that the blood found on the mattress was not linked to Natalee Holloway. However, what ever became of the shirt with the security company initials VCB and other items found?
At Aruba Truth, they claim that the “New Arrest Shows Commitment To Solve Case”. After 11 months there is now a commitment to solve the case? What are you saying that is was before then? Not a commitment? We may actually finally have found common ground. However, we think that the ALE and Aruban authorities have lost the right to use the words “aggressively pursue”
The arrest of a 19 year old, initials G.V.C., underlines the continuing efforts of the investigators and the Office of the Prosecution to aggressively pursue the Natalee Holloway case. Public statements on the arrest have been confined to a carefully worded release to protect the suspect and not reveal what role this plays in the investigation as a whole.
No matter how one looks at this situation and investigation, it was just a mess from the start and there are no winners in the end no matter whether this case is solved or not.
What will we hear next from the spin doctors of this case? That the two security guards, Steve Croes, Paul Van der Sloot, Joran, Deepak and Satish were all arrested as a diversion so that the ALE could go after the real perpetrators of the crime? That this was the ALE’s plan all a long? Let’s hope not and that no one tires to insult our collective intelligence.
