So Joran Van der Sloot’s story as to why he and his parents went to NYC is now that he “wanted a fair chance,” according to an article in Amigoe. A fair chance to do what exactly? Blame the victim Natalee Holloway and say negative things about someone who is not here to personally defend herself? If Natalee is pushy, what exactly does that make you?
He said that Holloway was not a super nice girl, like everybody pictures her. “She was very pushy. She asked to come along and she didn’t want to get out of the car, even when her friends called her.” After showing her around, she and Joran were dropped off at the beach. Joran had to go home after a while though, because he had classes the net morning. “She wanted me to stay with her on the beach.”
Or is it to now implicate Satish Kalpoe and state that he picked you up from the beach after you have already told the story (one of many) that you walked home that night? The last night Natalee Holloway was ever seen.
Joran said that Satish Kalpoe had picked him up from the beach, something that the police are still questioning.
Joran Van der Sloot claims that he had to come to the US to do an interview in order to prove his innocence. What a crock of lies this is. Why would someone physically have to come to the United States and do an interview other that to flaunt an arrogant attitude in the face of Natalee’s family. Or was it to act like a big shot and be wined and dined in NYC by ABC? You are out of your league and you just got burned.
Joran went to the US to get a fair chance and to proof his innocence. “I have never been aggressive with any girl.” ABC will broadcast the interview with Joran this coming Thursday evening.
Well Joran and the Van der Sloots, welcome to the USA. You are not in Kansas anymore. Gone are your preferential treatment and an LE that looks the other way at every opportunity. There is not one individual, including the lawyer of Joran Van der Sloot, who can comprehend the insanity of what this family just did.
To actively leave their safe haven of Aruba and expose oneself to the laws of the United States is beyond words. One can only think that these people were that smug and arrogant to think that nothing could happen. Well they get what they deserve and that is for the first time in a long time to actually be put on the defensive.
Questions of jurisdiction have arose by many legal pundits; however, keep a couple things in mind. One, it hard to imagine that John Q. Kelly and the Law Firm of Chadbourne and Parke would have entered into this without having done their homework. Two, the fact that the Van der Sloots have done business in NY by doing the interview with ABC and most certainly having accepted air fare, hotel accommodations and meals opens them up to jurisdictional issue. Three, stating that this lawsuit was nothing more than a media stunt by the Holloway’s and Twitty’s really misses the mark. Especially when why were the Van der Sloots in NY? A media stunt.
Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered and the Van der Sloots had to push the envelop and bite off more than they could chew. They couldn’t just leave well enough alone. They did not have to come to the US. They could have done this interview live via satellite with ABC. They came here because they wanted to be celebrities and be wined and dined in NYC. For all those reason that people have been critical of Beth Twitty, the one who has actually lost a daughter; the Van der Sloots were just looking to cash in on it.
Now look where that has got them. Having to hired a lawyer in the US or possibly having a default judgment against them. They certainly will not answer questions or depositions. Seems like you may even have some problems back in Aruba as the Kalpoes are none to happy about you changing your story and implicating them.
Welcome to the US Joran, hope you had a nice stay. You all come back now, ya here.
Joran van der Sloot went to the US for a fair chance
ARUBA — “I wanted a fair chance”, said Joran van der Sloot in an interview with Nova about his trip to New York. His parents and his lawyer advised him not to go to New York, but he still did last Thursday. He was invited for an interview with the American TV ABC. He didn’t know that a citation was awaiting him once he touched American soil.
Nova showed his parents, who also received a citation, trying their best to impede their son to go through customs. But that was too late already, because he had already received the writ on the airplane, which added a new chapter to the missing Natalee Holloway soap. The reception at the airport was very rough; everywhere people tried to besiege him. He was also interrogated by the customs department for three hours.
In the interview he said that his biggest mistake was leaving the girl on the beach by herself. “She wanted me to stay with her on the beach.” Joran said that Satish Kalpoe had picked him up from the beach, something that the police are still questioning.
According to Joran, it was very stupid of him to lie at first, saying that the three boys had dropped Holloway off at the Holiday Inn. “We though that it was going to be ok and that she would show up in a few days.” He lied because he didn’t want to admit that he had left the girl alone on the beach. Joran went to the US to get a fair chance and to proof his innocence. “I have never been aggressive with any girl.” ABC will broadcast the interview with Joran this coming Thursday evening.
