Entwistle Arrives In Bay State
On Thursday, Entwistle will be charged with the murders of his wife, Rachel, 27, and his 9-month-old daughter, Lillian. Officials allege Entwistle shot his family in their rented Hopkinton home on Jan. 20 before fleeing to his native England. He was arrested in England last week.
The motorcade containing Neil Entwistle made its way to the Hopkinton Police Department where Neil Entwistle will be booked on the murder of his wife and daughter. Entwistle has quite a next 24 hours. His defense attorney is already making the cry that Neil Entwistle will not be able to get a fair trial. Maybe some of these alleged murderers should think about the consequences of their actions first, getting a fair trial being one of them. It is not the bias of a jury or the media that is Neil Entwistle’s problem, its the evidence or forensics against him.
Entwistle was escorted to the Hopkinton Police Department from Hanscom by a police motorcade and will be booked upon arrival. He will meet with his court-appointed attorney Wednesday evening. He will be arraigned Thursday at 2 p.m. in Framingham District Court on murder charges. Entwistle also faces one charge of possession of a firearm and one charge of possession of ammunition.
Boston defense attorney Elliot Weinstein was appointed to represent Entwistle by the Committee for Public Counsel Services, a state agency that pairs private attorneys with defendants who can’t pay. Weinstein has degrees from Trinity College and Boston College. Weinstein has worked on several high-profile cases locally, including serving as defense attorney for one the Anguilo brothers during an organized crime trial. Weinstein has expressed concerns about Entwistle getting a fair trial.
