Super Bowl XL (Detroit, MI), Why this game is not played in the North

I think we know why the last 13 Super Bowls have been played in a warm weather climate whether there was a domed stadium involved or not. Not since Super Bowl XXVI , Jan. 26, 1992 between Washington 37, Buffalo 24 in Minneapolis, MN has there been a Super Bowl played in the North. Its not so much about the actual game being hampered, but more about the fans mingling during Super Bowl week and during the weekend. A winter storm? This might be interesting.

The Janet Jackson ripple effect (or should that be “rip” effect) has finally come around to the game that started it all. Sunday’s Super Bowl will be on a five-second tape delay pregame, postgame and halftime.

The Rolling Stones will be the half time entertainment during this years Super Bowl, lets hope there is no wardrobe malfunction, oh my. When Mick Jagger was asked about the tape delay he made the following comment:

According to a radio news report of an interview with Jagger, when asked about the halftime content, he joked that ABC was worried about how many times he would say the f-word (“One!” chimed in a voice that sounded like a band mate). He also added that the network was worried about Aretha Franklin “stripping during the Star Spangled Banner.”
