Brian Reed, the Brother of NFL Baltimore Raven Safety Ed Reed Missing after Jumping into the Mississippi River in St. Rose, LA

Posted in: Missing Persons

29 year old Brian Reed, the brother of NFL Baltimore Ravens all-everything safety Ed Reed, is missing in  St. Rose, Louisiana. According to reports, Brian Reed jumped into the Mississippi River as the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s department was pursuing Brian Reed in St. Rose, LA on Friday. Reed jumped into the water around 10 AM trying to evade police and never resurfaced.

Deputies say they saw Brian Reed jump into the river, go underwater and disappear, the website reported.

“The suspect jumped into the river, went about 15 feet according to the deputy,” Sgt. Dwayne LaGrange, a spokesman for the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, told WWLTV.com. “At some particular point they said he did witness hands and head come up and go under the water and never resurface again.”

Brian Reed had been involved in a chase with police, WWLTV.com reported. Brian Reed’s car matched the description of a vehicle that almost ran another driver off the road.

Brian Reed was stopped for allegedly running another driver off the road, and it was later determined that he was driving a stolen car. Reed’s mother, however, disputed that claim.

UPDATE I: Search called off by authorities.

Ravens safety Ed Reed will play with a heavy heart Sunday after the search for his missing brother was called off by police Saturday.
