Surely you can’t be serious … Polyester leisure suits, an clueless Inspector, a 180 degree little girl’s swiveling head and Yoda make the National Film Registry.
Surely, they are. The movie Airplane has been added to the National Film Registry at the Library of Congress. Along with 24 other movies, most likely Airplane was selected as a tribute to the late Leslie Nielsen. Other films that made the list were The Empire Strikes Back, The Exorcist, The Pink Panther, and Saturday Night Fever.
