Vigil for 16 Year Old Carlee Morse Missing Since 8/20/10 in Westland, MI

16 year old Carlee Morse has been missing since August 20, 2010 in Westland, Michigan when she disappeared from her Westland apartment around midnight. Carlee went outside to make a call and never returned. Carlee’s parents do not believe she is a runaway; however, police have stated that at this time, there is no evidence of foul play and the teen does not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert.

Her mother tells Action News she gave Carlee permission to go outside and
make a quick phone call. When Carlee didn’t come back inside, her mother reported her missing to Westland police.

Carlee’s mother says she does not believe her daughter is a runaway. She says she went outside without shoes, money or a change of clothes.

Carlee Jade Morse has been missing for more than a month and the concern is that she has a pre-existing medical condition.

Vigil set tonight for missing Westland teen: Sister of another missing girl aids family of 16-year-old who disappeared 3 months ago

A candlelight vigil to draw attention to a missing Westland teenager drew about 80 people Saturday night.

Carlee Morse, 16, of Westland disappeared just after midnight Aug.20.

“We’re hoping the vigil will bring some exposure to the case, because with every day that passes, we’re losing hope that she is alive,” said Beth Pluta, a longtime family friend who helped organize the event outside the home of another family friend in Garden City.

Westland police classified Carlee as a missing person in an active investigation. “We’ve received quite a few tips on her whereabouts, but at this stage of the game, nothing has panned out,” said police Sgt. Steve Bird.
