Aruban Update: Status on the Release of Suspects

MESSAGE FROM THE PROSECUTOR
On Thursday afternoon, the judge of instruction made his decisions known with regards to the motions tiled by the prosecutor and the defense attorneys in tile case of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
In this press release the Prosecutor’s Office gives the information regarding the motions that were filed by the prosecutor in charge of the investigation.
THE DECISIONS
The prosecutor filed a notion to prolong the detention of J.v.d.S (Joran van der Sloot)with a period of 30 days. This motion was granted by the judge of instruction, but at the same time the judge of instruction has ordered the suspension of the detention of the suspect. This means that the suspect will be set free. There are conditions associated with this suspension that J.v.d.S (Joran van der Sloot), has to comply with. If he does not comply with the conditions set upon his suspension by the judge of instruction, the prosecutor can petition the judge of instruction to suspend the suspension of his detention.
In the case of the two brothers S.K. (Satish Kalpoe) and D.K. (Deepak Kalpoe) the prosecutor filed to motion to prolong their detention with a period of 8 days. The judge of instruction has decided to prolong the detention of the brothers S.K. and D.K. with 8 days. At the same time, he has ordered the suspension of their detention. This means that they will be set free. In their case the judge of instruction has also set conditions S.K. (Satish Kalpoe) and D.K. (Deepak Kalpoe); have to comply with. If they do not comply with these conditions set upon them by the judge of instruction, the prosecution – can petition the Judge of instruction to suspend the suspension of their detention.
TODAY FRIDAY
The prosecutor has appealed the decisions of the judge of instruction in which he suspends the detention of the three suspects S.K. (Satish Kalpoe) and D.K. (Deepak Kalpoe) , and J.v.d.S (Joran van der Sloot), .
Now it’s up to the Court of Appeals to set a date for the hearings.
