There has been much speculation as to whether former Alaska governor Sarah Palin would run for President in 2012. While providing the keynote speech last night at the Tea Party Convention, many in the audience chanted, RUN SARAH, RUN …  According to this report from Fox News.com, the speculation may be over.

While in Nashville, TN at the Tea Party Convention, Sarah Palin told Fox News that she would be willing to take on Barack Obama in 2012.

Sarah Palin has President Obama in her sights, telling FoxNews.com she “would be willing” to challenge him in the 2012 presidential race.

The former Alaska governor, in an interview Saturday on the sidelines of the National Tea Party Convention in Nashville, said President Obama’s “lack of experience” has held him back his first year in office and that she would put her credentials up against his any day.

“I would be willing to if I believe that it’s right for the country,” Palin said when asked if she would run for president in 2012.

She qualified the statement, adding that she sees “many” other potential candidates who are “in as strong or stronger position than I am to take on the White House and if they’re in a better position than I in three years, I’ll support them.”

However, the former GOP vice presidential nominee told ‘Fox News Sunday’: “I won’t close the door that perhaps could be open for me in the future.”

PALIN: I won’t close the door that perhaps could be open for me in the future. I don’t want any American to ever close the door in their personal or their professional lives and put themselves in a box and say, heck, yes I’m going to do that. Or, no way I’m not going to do that, when we don’t know what the future holds.

WALLACE: There’s a report this weekend that you are now getting daily e-mail briefings on domestic and foreign policy issues from a group of top advisors in Washington, D.C.
How come?

PALIN: Ever since our PAC was formed, we have had good people contributing. Some — many volunteers, I guess you would call them advisors, yes, firing away e-mails to me every morning saying, this is what’s happened in Washington overnight. You need to be aware of this. Good. It’s great. It’s helpful.

WALLACE: Do you — isn’t that the move of somebody who is thinking about running for president?
