Tonight Beth Holloway went on local Aruban radio, 96.5, to discuss the situation of her missing daughter Natalee. Beth has been on many of the US International TV shows but I believe this may be her first local Aruban interview. The highlights of the Beth Holloway Twitty interview are as follows:
The audio to the beginning of the interview can be heard hear courtesy of Blogs for Natalee
About 2003 MBH started coming here with 30 students. They had a good time and wanted to return and returned in 2004 in 70 students.
Natalee Holloway has been on trips alone. In the Caribbean with other friends and she has traveled to Austria and Germany, she has a younger brother Matt, 16.
They are simulcasting 2 radio stations from Curacao and one from Bonnair
First invitation to come to a radio station, all others were over the phone. Reporter states that Beth has been on international media, but not yet local media. Then welcomes her for coming on 96.5.
One of the chaperone’s called Beth on 12pm on 5/30 to say that NH wasn’t in the lobby at the hotel.
Beth immediately knew that Natalee was missing and she called the FBI that her daughter had been kidnapped. Knew within seconds we had a serious problem. Knew she had been kidnapped.
Beth absolutely believes that she has been kidnapped. Beth says that this is not a missing person. She called 911 saying that her daughter had been kidnapped.
Natalee Holloway did not have contact with with Beth during her trip.
Chaperone’s have her trust. Some were family friends and one chaperon stayed behind.
There were three Arubans who met Beth at airport and were “incredible, fantastic” with helping Beth to “navigate Aruba”.
The reporter asked, “How are the Aruban authorities been handling the case?”Beth says that as any mother or father nothing can be fast enough. This is not to penalize to local authority or government.
Frustration and desperation can only increase.
Beth says that Natalee didn’t have any history of anything of the ordinary.
Beth has a huge support system in family. Some have flown 5 times already.
Beth does not know why the media interest in this.
Reporter asks as if she had suspicions that this may have happened (kidnapping).Beth answered that she knew at that moment that Natalee was “ripped from her life”.
Vinda says that the family thinks that Natalee disappeared involuntarily and didn’t go to the place she was supposed to go.
Beth does have daily contact with FBI and and local police. Some meetings are good, some are bad. Information sometimes goes through Vinda and Peter.
Equusearch is not being backed by Beth. Beth is not involved and has faith in the authorities. Beth has been trying to understand the Dutch system and Vinda has helped her with this.
Beth on U.S. media: Everyone has their hearts in this and she doesn’t know why.
She doesn’t want to comment on her thoughts on the van der Sloot’s family. All parents have the role of wanting the best for their children, to protect their children.
Beth stated that she wants justice for Natalee and wants to see this through.
Beth, “I WANT TO TAKE HER HOME”
She will absolutely not leave Aruba.
Beth believes that she is on the island.
Reporter asks do you ever wonder why if your daughter has been kidnapped that nothing has been asked for?
Beth doesn’t know why there isn’t a ransom.
Reporter asks, Beth would love to know about any prayer vigils in the evening.
Mirna of ATA to have a prayer chain from the Wyndham to the Holiday Inn tomorrow at 2:45 to 3:00pm.
Beth’s expectation: I demand answers, expect answers and we will have them.
(On a personal note … How this woman is able to keep up the strength is amazing)
*********
Prior to Beth’s interview an Aruban lawyer, Vinda de Souza, was discussing some of the present situation in Papiamentu. A summary of what was basically said by the Aruban attorney:
Lawyer said that the family of Natalee Holloway tries to talk bad about the authorities here, but that the lawyer will stop them and explain them.
Lawyer has explained system until that she is tired of it, but will keep on explaining it.
Lawyer says that she’s telling U.S. media that an unknown legal system to them is not necessarily a bad system. She says that there are a few reporters that are finally getting things right, but not all. Those who do not correct themselves probably do it out of sensationalism.
She says that the family submitted a brief to be considered a ‘wronged’ party in the investigation.
