Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter (D) Announcing Retirement … Another Blow to Democrats in 2010

Drip, drip, drip … More bad news for Democrats.
Another Democrat is calling it quits. This time it is Colorado Governor Democrat Bill Ritter who is stating he will not be seeking reelection in 2010. Ritter comfortably won a first term as Colorado Senator in 2006; however, he was facing a tough reelection battle against former Republican Representative Scott McInnis. In less than four years, from landslide victory to withdrawal from race. My what a difference one year of the Obama Presidency makes.
Oh those Obama coattails of Hope & Change
A recent Scott Rasmussen poll had Governor Bill Ritter trailing Republican challenger Scott McInnis.
As stated at NRO, this is devastating news for Democrats. The once Democrat governor shining star and one time Obama VP hopeful is not out of politics.
Gov. Bill Ritter began making calls to other prominent Colorado Democrats around 6 p.m. notifying them of his decision.
Colorado’s Ritter won’t seek second term as governor. So do Democrats and Obama still want to live in Fantasy Land as to what 2010 has in store?
