The powerful sedative Diprivan was found in Michael Jackson’s home, a law enforcement official said Friday.

Diprivan is an anesthetic widely used in operating rooms to induce unconsciousness. Also known as Propofol, it’s administered intravenously and is very unusual to have in a private home.

So why would Michael Jackson need Diprivan? Did he have a prescription for it? What is most puzzling is that Jackson would have access to such sedatives like Diprivan, which is found in a hospital operating room, yet no where in the home was there a crash cart. Did Diprivan play a role in the 50 year old Michael Jackson’s death?

Michael Jackson reportedly suffered from severe insomnia:

Sources told CNN Friday Jackson suffered from such a severe case of insomnia he traveled with a private anesthesiologist in the mid-1990s.

Dr. Neil Ratner regularly helped “take down” and “bring him back up” during the pop icon’s HIStory tour, sources told CNN.

Many have speculated that Jackson’s cardiac arrest may be attributed to an adverse reaction to the taking of multiple prescription drugs.

The revelation adds further evidence to the theory that prescription drugs played a role in the pop star’s death.

A California nurse has said Jackson begged her for Propofol for months. In a phone call from one of his staffers days before his death, she became convinced he had gotten his hands on some.

Experts say the drug can lead to cardiac arrest, especially when combined with others.

In a shocking move on the slow Friday news cycle before the 4th of July, Governor Sarah Palin is stepping down as Alaska’s chief executive by months end. Palin has stated that she will not seek a second term as Governor in 2010. I echo the words of Jammie Wearing Fool, “Just WOW”!

“People who know me know that besides faith and family, nothing’s more important to me than our beloved Alaska,” Palin said at an announcement from her home in Wasilla. “Serving her people is the greatest honor I could imagine.”

Palin was elected governor in 2006. She was tapped as Arizona Sen. John McCain’s vice presidential running mate last year.

Palin said she was transferring authority to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell, who will be sworn in at the Governor’s Picnic on July 26.

Is her political career over or is this a bold move to get out of the cross hairs of the media and Democrats to run as the true Conservative, Washington, DC outsider in 2012?

 “We are not retreating, we are advancing in another direction.”

It had been speculated that Sarah Palin would not seek a second term as she had aspirations of a career on the national stage. Let us just hope that this is not a result of the ridiculous attacks from the LEFT and from the jealous McCain staffers. Lt Governor Sean Parnell will take over the reins on July 26 and hopefully give him a leg up in the 2010 elections.

She implied that her real decision was not to seek re-election, and that the resignation was a natural step after that in order to avoid a lame-duck final 18 months of her term.

“With this announcement that I’m not seeking re-election, I’ve determined it’s best to transfer the authority of governor to Lieutenant Governor (Sean) Parnell,” Palin said. “I’m determined to take the right path for Alaska, even though it is unconventional and is not so comfortable.

The Left, Democratic pundits and the liberal media can say that Sarah is finished all they want. I do not believe that is the case. The 2012 Presidential elections will truly be one of change. The pendulum swung too far to the left and socialism with Barack Obama in 2008. By the time 2012 rolls around the country is going to need a swing back to traditional values and a common sense approach. Sarah Palin will have positioned herself as the non-incumbent and the real non-Washington DC insider. However, speculation is running ramped as to why she stepped down at this moment. The Anchoress thinks that maybe she or some one in her family is ill.

Right Wing News thinks that she did the best thing for the state of Alaska as their personal attacks against her and her family are still coming even after the election. Personally, it is obvious that the LEFT considers Sarah Palin a threat as witnessed by their unending attacks. Is it possible that she is taking away their ammunition?

Listening to the replays on the news channels, what I heard was a women who was tired of people coming after her personally with BS suits and investigations which kept her from her family and from doing her job as Governor of Alaska. She did, IMO, the best thing for the State, since the jackals were still coming after her even after all these months past the election. She put her State ahead of herself, to a degree.

Will there really be no justice for deceased 13 year old Megan Meier and her family? A federal judge on Thursday tentatively threw out the MySpace computer fraud conviction against Lori Drew. How is it possible that the Missouri mom, Lori Drew, walks away from the cyberbullying and suicide of Megan Meier with no conviction, but with blood on her hands?

Lori Drew, the keyboard coward who was complicit in typing “Megan Meier is a slut” and “Megan Meier is fat ” and “The world would be a better place without you.”

Lori Drew’s intent was to emotionally harass a minor. How did Lori Drew’s actions not constitute, stalking, harassing and endangering the welfare of a minor?

Lori Drew was complicit, along with her own teenage daughter and a business assistant, Ashley Grills, in creating a fake MySpace profile using the identity of 16 year old Josh Evans  (VIDEO) to  flirt with Meier, befriend her, and then rudely abandon her. The end result was that Megan Meier took her life by hanging herself.

Megan hanged herself at home in October 2006, allegedly after receiving a dozen or more cruel messages, including one stating the world would be better off without her.

How is it possible that Lori Drew cannot be charged? How can someone cyberbully another to then point that they commit suicide and not be held responsible? How can Lori Drew have inappropriate conversations with a minor? This is simply criminal. After all, Drew et all pretended to be a 16 year old boy and were having an inappropriate conversations with a 13 year old minor girl. How is this different than is it were a male sex predator pretending to be a 16 year old boy and emailing a 13 year old? In both cases their intent would have been to endanger the welfare of a minor.

She set up a MySpace profile for the imaginary boy, complete with a picture of a random handsome youth, and then contacted Megan. “Josh Evans” chatted with Megan for about six weeks. He called her “sexi” and offered to take her out on a date.

Megan’s parents said their daughter, who struggled with her weight, was thrilled by the attention from a “hot” boy.

But then “Josh” turned on Megan. Among the last things Megan saw online on Oct. 16, 2006, were postings saying “Megan Meier is a slut” and “Megan Meier is fat.”

Her parents said the last message from “Josh” said, “Everybody hates you. … The world would be a better place without you.”

Lori Drew’s reaction to the events was that she should never have gone to trial in the first place for her role in a MySpace hoax directed at a 13 year old Megan Meier.

Drew showed no reaction to the decision in the courtroom. In a statement read on NBC’s “Today” show Friday, said she agreed with it and felt she never should have been prosecuted.

“In my view, it was proper that this case was dismissed, primarily because I simply did not do what the U.S. attorney in Los Angeles accused me of doing,” Drew said.

One would tend to think that there are different severities of violating a term of service. It would be one thing to knowingly create a fake identity. It is quite a different thing to do so to perpetrate a crime on another individual.

Two professional Mexican midget wrestlers were found dead in a seedy hotel in Mexico City, Mexico. According to authorities, the wrestlers, “La Parkita” and “Espectrito Jr.,” could have been victims of a gang of female robbers who are experienced at using drugs to knock men out and rob them. In this case the two may have been drugged to death.

Autopsies are being performed on the two midget wrestlers, one of whom went by the name “La Parkita” — or “Little Death” [bizarre coincidence] — and wore a skeleton costume in the ring. The other was known as “Espectrito Jr.”

Fifty-six percent (56%) of Americans say they are not willing to pay more in taxes and utility costs to generate cleaner energy and fight global warming.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, taken since the climate change bill was passed on Friday, finds that 21% of Americans are willing to pay $100 more per year for cleaner energy and to counter global warming. Only 14% are willing to pay more than that amount.

As US unemployment rates rise to 9.5% and headed to over 10%, Obama continues his taxing ways in the teeth of a recession as 467,000 lost jobs in June 2009. Also, consumer confidence is also down as Americans see no viable change with this President. 42% of Americans had already stated that “Cap & Trade” would harm the economy while only 15% said it would have no impact, yet he continues down the green, black hole.

Here are some more poll numbers from a recent Rasmussen Report that were conducted after passage of the “cap and trade” tax bill that Democrats might want to ponder for the upcoming 2010 midterm elections

• Fifty-two percent (52%) of all adults say it is more important to keep the cost of energy as low as possible than it is to develop clean, environmentally friendly sources of energy.
• Sixty-three percent (63%) rate creating jobs as more important than taking steps to stop global warming.

How out of touch is this White House with the plight of the American people? Obama has one agenda and one only, to create a Nanny, socialist government that people are dependent on at all cost. He claims to create jobs, that are simply not there. How else can one explain ignoring the will of the people, nationalizing private industry and continually raising taxes during a recession as more and more Americans become unemployed.

It is safe to say that the only thing green with Obama is … his economic policies.

The Labor Department report, released Thursday, showed that even as the recession flashes signs of easing, companies likely will want to keep a lid on costs and be wary of hiring until they feel certain the economy is on a solid ground. June’s payroll reductions were deeper than the 363,000 that economists expected.

All told, 14.7 million people were unemployed in June.

It appears that the 74% of Americans that their own judgment more than that of Congress when it comes to economic issues facing the country are correct.

The stimulus is working so well that government jobs are increasing as the private sector burns (adding to the cost of running the government, by the way, which will have to be paid for by…the private sector).

Using the age old adage, If a tree falls in the woods and no one is there, does it make a sound, Obama sent Biden off to rural, rural, town outside of Erie, PA to talk with the common folks about federal stimulus money that can be used to expand broadband access to the Internet for rural areas that typically have poor connections.

It looks like the people did not get the memo as no one showed. It’s like a scene from the movie “Black Sheep” where Chris Farley is sent off to some obscure, rural town to help his bothers campaign to just keep him out of the way. Sounds familiar.

Apparently stimulus money and broadband are not all that interesting to the local folk here: Only around 100 or so people have showed up so far to hear Biden talk at noon at Seneca High School off Route 8 in Wattsburg.

The room looked so sparse that about 30 or so chairs were removed by volunteers to give the illusion of a full house.

The effect didn’t exactly work.

The media made Obama, they have carried the water for Obama and now they appear to be fed up with Obama. Has the media finally gotten tired of Obama’s lack of transparency and stonewalling of the media’s questions? What did the media expect? They created Obama by never asking a tough question, does the press now have buyer’s remorse, literally!

When liberal Helen Thomas thinks that Obama is trying to control the press, the Obamamessiah really has a problem. Is the media going to finally expose this President and the Administration for what they really are? They claim they are for oneness and transparency, yet have done nothing but stonewall, create media infomercials, have media plants, and pre-screen Town Hall questions. As Town Hall.com states … It’s about time, called on it for once.

“Nixon didn’t try to do that,” Thomas said. “They couldn’t control (the media). They didn’t try.

“What the hell do they think we are, puppets?” Thomas said. “They’re supposed to stay out of our business. They are our public servants. We pay them.”

I will second Stop the ACLU, I too never thought I would singing the praises of Chip Reid and Helen Thomas. What it does show is that the media is getting to the boiling point.

Ace of Spades brings up a good point as well, did Obama know the questions in advance to be prepared for what was supposed to be impromptu questions. I guess we might have to ask his teleprompter.

Although both objected to the process, neither remembered to ask about the fact that Obama would know the questions ahead of time. Thus giving a false appearance that he was prepared to answer any question put to him, when in fact he’d already worked out the answers for the questions he chose to ask himself.

Even more to the point, Hot Air asks why there was not more outrage from ABC over their Obama healthcare infomercial that prevented any other side of the topic that The One’s?

Frankly, with ABC holding infomercials for Obama in prime time, it seems almost petty to get exercised about a phony town hall. Exit question: How seriously should we take concerns that Obama’s not facing enough tough questions when voiced by a woman known to wonder why the White House considers Iran a threat?

GIBBS: Chip, Chip, lets have this discussion at the conclusion of the town hall meetings.

THOMAS: No, no, no, we’re having it now.

GIBBS: Well, I’d be happy to have it now.

GIBBS: Which questions do you object to at the town hall meeting?

THOMAS: Of course you would, because you don’t have any answers.

THOMAS: Well you should have.

THOMAS: I don’t have to email. I can tell you right now what I want to say.

REID: Actually, could you pass along a question from all of us to the president: Is he going to support a tax increase on the middle class?

Karl Malden was a talent that we rarely see today. He had talent as he certainly could not fall back on stunning looks. Malden had the plain guy look, but was an exceptional actor. Something that maybe Hollywood could remember when casting for movies today, it’s not all about the appearance as sometimes its about one’s talent.

As Obama and the Democrats go down the path of socialism and government control of healthcare, maybe Americans need to take a look to our good friend to the North and see how their universal healthcare is doing.

Canada’s universal healthcare system is always referenced as a beacon of success for universal healthcare. Really? Maybe someone should tell Canadians that. Having to face long waits, rationalized medical care and substandard care and interesting thing is occurring in the Great White North. Private clinics are opening and providing Canadians with care who are willing to pay. What a novel concept, the free market system is alive and well and working in Canada.

“I think there is a fundamental shift in different parts of the country that’s beginning to happen. I think people are beginning to realize that they should have a choice,” says Luc Boulay, a partner at St. Joseph MRI, a private clinic in Quebec that charges around $700 for most scans.

What a not so bizarre twist of fate as a country with universal healthcare is moving toward private care and a country, the United States, that has a private healthcare model is moving towards a government controlled universal, single payer system. This is not about saving healthcare in the US, it is about controlling healthcare.

Question: how many people when HMO’s first came on the scene and were forced into them because your employer foolishly chose the lest expensive insurance plan? How many of you were suddenly faced with the doctor and care you had been provided was suddenly considered not covered or not medically necessary? Get ready to witness that again, government style.

Under Obama’s universal healthcare it will be welcome to rationalized care. How else does anyone think that those that don’t have an insurance plan are going to be covered? Either premiums go up or services go down.

Of course under Obama’s universal healthcare plan, he stated during the elections that he would not tax individual’s healthcare plans to pay for his. That campaign promise was considered a lie at the time and now President Obama seems to be open to taxing the middle class for your healthcare plan in an effort to force you into a government one.

The honeymoon is over. The press laughs at Press Secretary Gibbs lame attempt to duck their questions. Has the as the Obama House of Spin is starting to unravel. Barack Obama made a campaign promise that he would not tax anyone who makes less that $250. That promise all but got him elected a it was those mean rich people who were going to pay for everything in Obama’s redistribution of wealth program.

Looks like Obama is learning that a campaign promise and a smile does not make a President.

No new taxes sounded like a good sound bite on the campaign trail; however, actually being President is a much different animal. Obama hammered John McCain during the campaign for having the audacity to tax the healthcare benefits of individuals to pay for his plan. Guess what, Obama is now open to the same.

Stop the ACLU reminds us about another past President who made a no new tax pledge. He did not get re-elected.
